Want to Catch More Fish?
Now it would really help if we could just get the bass to read it.

favorite type of artificial worms
Producto 6" Tournament Worm in Black Grape/Blue Flake or Junebug in clear water or Red Shad and Tequila Sunrise in stained/darker water among several other colors I use. They are actually about 6 1/2 to 6 3/4" long and cosiderably more bulky looking then 7" powerworm or 7.5" Culprit. The Producto Tournament worm is also my first choice in a flipping worm because it doesn't have a curly tail to wrap around junk or stick to reeds etc and I can stick a bigger hook in it. I like the extra bulk and profile in these worms and they are very soft & flexible with their segmented design.

Devasted that this is happening in my Lake!!!
First impressions are everything, let the authorities do the talking. I'm willing to bet they won't meter out any punishment on the first visit. I'm sure they will get an education though and hopefully it will stop.

Problems with BassPro.Com?
That poor service will eventually bite them in the butt as more and more people go in search of options. I've noticed the slow service too and frankly I just don't trust USPS for shipping anything. I think Fed Ex is the best of the lot but I don't know about international shipments. Barlows is faster than BPS and quite a bit further away from me. BPS is by far the biggest outfit I've ordered from and they also offer the worst service I've experienced. I'm done with BPS except for their off season sales.

SUSPENDING JERK BAIT
They've been a real good post spawn bait for me in the past. I'm REAL partial to the Rapala Tennessee Shad suspending Husky Jerks in size 10 and 12. It may not be the best way for covering water but once you narrow your search or contact fish it is often one of the more effective baits I know of for this situation. It is probably my favorite hard bait of all. I love 'em and the bass really nail 'em!!

Zoom Super Fluke
I don't use the Super Fluke, but I fish the 4" Fluke and 4" Fin S Fish a LOT in clear shallow areas. I have rigged them every which way but wacky including with a 1/16 oz bullet and taken fish on all of them. Hook is always a 2/0 Gamakatsu EWG rigged Texposed. Tomorrow I'm going to test with Red EWG hooks and see how they like that. We are going to shift to summer patterns really soon up here and I'll try them on a C-rig for smallies too. Another favorite way to fish them is with a 1/16 or 3/32 oz Gopher mushroom head on deep rockpiles and humps. My absolute best color is Fin S Fish in rainbow trout.

New Lake
I don't know exactly where you are at in MN but weather conditions are going to be pretty similar across the state I think. Find sand/hard shorelines that have newly developing curly leaf/broad leaf cabbage coming up where you have a bottom transition from sand to muck and you'll find some there. Fish smaller baits...tubes, 4" worms, 4" Zoom fluke or Lunker City Fin S Fish or 3" mullet type baits on light line. Try the Fin S Fish/Flukes unweighted and also with maybe 1/16 oz bullets. Plan on fishing slow because you are likely dealing with 2nd day post frontal conditions. Fish that transition zone or just back into the weeds a bit. You might also find some fish on deeper edges but again I don't think they will be in a chasing mood so fish slow. I will be fishing this same pattern on Sunday in a very clear lake also. I will be using all those baits mentioned. The Fin S Fish in rainbow trout has been kick butt this year so far for me. One of my best colors for post frontal conditions on clear water is Clear Salt and pepper or Clear with silver flake. When the bite is tough I can almost always count on that color. Use whatever weight you have to keep a good feel of the bottom. Sometimes you'll encounter wood in those weeds that has been blown in over the years and sitting on the bottom. You start knocking your Fluke or tube into that wood and you'll get bit.

New type of bass topwater lure!
George, I would be surprised but at the same time probably not as much as some people. It's pretty amazing what is involved in the world of marketing isn't it?

New type of bass topwater lure!
Don't sweat it man, private lableing is a pretty popular business concept in the USA. Some people are just ignorant and like to jump down others throats. But yes, a different choice of words is best when you do this kind of thing. Maybe something like..."My company is introducing a new topwater bait to our current line up...." it doesn't say you created it and it doesn't say you didn't. I wouldn't worry about it. Put your own twist on the marketing and thats what it's all about really. And to clarify, I don't necessarily mean anybody here about jumping down throats. I see this kind of thing all the time, more then most people do probably because they don't give any thought to what they buy. I know of businesses who make no products of their own but private label everything they sell under their own brand label. My guess is you will see more of this in the future in fishing tackle industry too. Without a patent number or trademark, anythinig is fair game to piracy or copy.

MN Clubs?
You are better off doing the club scene via the MN BASS Federation before you start doing money tournaments IF you have no current tournament experience, and judging by your posts I don't think you do. You'll learn a lot more going that route and it's a good time and good place to be involved starting out. http://www.mnbf.org/ Try that for finding club info. You will probably find one close to you and they will help you along.

bullet weights
Over the years I've become pretty partial to brass. I have not tried tungsten yet but it sounds like they might be similar. I have stuck with brass because I think they make more noise then lead when you knock them into rocks, wood etc. They seem to enhance my "feel" and I've always attributed that to brass being harder. When fishing tubes I really like the Thunder Bullets 1/16 oz rattling bullet weights. Anyway, anybody ever compare tungsten with brass. I've read/heard that tungsten increases feel too.

looking for stanley
http://www.fishstanley.com/wedgeplus.html Looks like they are only making them to 3/4 oz now and they don't sell direct online. I like/prefer the Stanley WedgePlus models too with that short lower arm.

the fight and lightening up
I do this all the time. The shoreline my family owns is on a very clear lake and it just happens that the shoreline adjacent to ours for 150 yds in either direction holds some good numbers of generally smaller bass, especially early in the season. This is where I teach my boys bass fishing to start out with. I have a few light spinning setups I run 6 lb line on that I use to "finesse" as I fish this area. In fact, just had my youngest son (5 yrs) up there last Thursday and Friday and between us we caught 40-50 bass with most in the 12-13" range, some smaller ones, and maybe a 8-10 from 14"-16 1/2". My son actually caught the biggest fish of the trip on Friday with his 16 1/2". He fished with a Manns baby 1- to start with and took a few fish on that, I was nailing them on tubes but later switched to a Fin S Fish. When I caught a bass on the first cast with that, he decided he wanted to try one so I rigged one for him weightless and he started nailing fish left and right. I never tire of catching small fish on light equipment, especially when I am fishing with my boys. I tell ya, it's a sight to behold to see a 5 yr old kid in water up to his waist pulling in 15-20 bass over 2 days of fishing and a big one to boot. Some have expressed concern that I spoil him on catching so many fish but all I can say is it's a d**n good way to spoil a kid. he was so adrenaline pumped after the first day that he was wide awake at midnight that night. Going light is just way too much fun and something you should never grow out of. I grew up wade fishing this shoreline and I still love to do it 40 yrs later. We are going again this Friday and he's still bouncing off the walls.

Hellgrammite imitating baits?
Lunker City makes "Hellgies" too. They look a little different from the Case version and I use them on a split shot rig for finesse applications around sand shorelines and the shallow "moss" in clear water lakes. I like the looks of those Case baits too. Never heard of Case before, thanks for throwing that out. I'm going to check out the rest of their stuff.

Texas Rig vs. Jig
I'm the same as Catt. I won't leave a spot until I've worked it over with both. I may even try different sizes before I leave.
