The "prefect" mono?
It also stretches just as much as mono does. Seemed to the one time I used it. I don't have enough experience with it to say for sure, but I've known others here to say the same thing.

The "prefect" mono?
What kind of relationship is there between density and stretch? :-/

RODSS????
Look at the Compre and Crucial models. I prefer Crucials but the Compre are also excellent for their price.

Best rods for tournaments

need help picking new spinning reel...and questions
The Prodigy 1500 is NICE! I have one and it's been a gem for 2 years now. The Tournament ZX is also very nice for a little less cash when on sale.

New Worm/Finesse Rod + Reel
The Shimano Crucial is a very good choice.

Favorite rod length/power/action for hard jerkbaits?
6' MH Shimano Convergence. I don't like my rod taking up too much of what I'm trying to put into the bait. Jerkin' is hard work and softer rods make it harder work yet, for me. This is also a technique that I don't feel the need for a expensive, super sensitive rod, so this old Convergence works well for me.

How do you feel MN?
I don't care for the drama he brings. My opinion is, we need a new coach. We DO need a good QB, but this stupid little stunt smacks only of flustered desperation to me (on Childress part mainly) . Don't know about other fans opinions but I think it a bad move. I guess we'll see what comes of it. Where's he gonna end up next year? :

throwing light baits on baitcaster?
Well, I thought he was talking about weed, shows how much I know about that.

Inexpensive baitcasters
d**n! Are these on sale??? I gotta go look ASAP. If you got that for $70, thats a very good deal on a great reel! Mine have been working great for the last 2 years and I do like how they fit my hand. It performs very close to my Revo SX, not quite as good at throwing lighter stuff but it's pretty close and it's doing better than my TD-A HST153 which I paid a lot more for.

throwing light baits on baitcaster?
Not tonight you ain't I'll wear the dunce cap tonight that I've earned. I'm not sure?? Did THAT post come across as me being a dickhead too? If it did, than I need new vocab and better sentence structure I guess. I don't know how to state my position any clearer. I really am impressed that some guys can do that. I've tried and I know I can't. I can throw my DT4's on my lighter crankin rig but thats about as low as I can go with wood.

throwing light baits on baitcaster?
You guys are right. What insignificant BS. What does it matter really? I mean, it's like a guy switching from a 1/4 oz sinker to 3/8 oz for whatever crazy reason....it's only 1/8 oz right. I get it now, DUH! BTW, you didn't need to call me a *****, I really was conceding that it is pretty amazing to me that you, or anyone else can toss a 5 gram weight in the form of a balsa crankbait with baitcasting gear any respectable distance. I'm sure with the thumb smiley it helped cast the wrong impression. I can't do it, not with the reels I have and the line I choose to use. I don't mean to imply it's impossible, but when things get that light it's just easier for me to pick up a spinning rig and do a better job.

throwing light baits on baitcaster?
I need to do this also. I'm just not sure yet which ones I want to put the money into.

throwing light baits on baitcaster?
I just threw a DT4 on my gram scale, 9.22 grams. #5 shad rap is 5.15 grams, nearly half the weight. These weights are hooks and all. Thats quite a difference in weight. You are incredible, I wouldn't bother to try throwing a #5 shad rap on a baitcasting rig.

My even newer black baby.
Federal makes a .410 load that has 4 #000 buck pellets in a vertical stack in a 2.5" hull. Kinda cool and probably expensive round (.410 shells are crazy expensive anyway) but would likely make a mess of somebody at short range. They list it as a handgun load(designed especially for the Taurus Judge) but, I wonder how it would fare in shotgun??

Shimano Curado vs. Diawa Zillion
Well, it's $100 cheaper!!!!! What'd you expect? : C'mon, even you have to admit it's a better value.

Looking for a new spinning reel
I realize line twist is par for the course with spinning reels, but what I'm talking about is "excessive" compared to my other reels. My Prez gives me fits vs my Daiwa's. I also remember having excessive twist with my old Shimano Spirex. Are you related to Danny?

Looking for a new spinning reel
Mine are opposite of yours. Trion is a xx35 and Prez is a xx30. My Trion is smoother than my Prez but I haven't used it in 2 yrs now. It's just kind of big but I don't remember the twist issues with the Trion either??? Another odd problem my Prez seems to have is it spools the line more toward the rear of the spool. It just kind of builds up on the back edge a little bit. It's not a big deal but it irritates me. I've switched to Cabela's Tourney ZX and Prodigy spinning reels (Daiwa's) and LOVE them. I'm not knocking Pflueger's, I just like the Daiwa's a bit better.

My even newer black baby.
Nice! This type of gun is probably on a lot of peoples minds. I'm shopping for one myself but in no hurry. Have heard the Stoeger P-350 is a good bargain though. Gun sales are up 22% nationwide since our new Prez was elected. 9mm ammo is in extremely short supply right now. Powder is getting real hard to get too.

Looking for a new spinning reel
If you are buying at Cabela's, consider the Prodigy 2500. It is a heckuva nice reel for $70 (on sale) AFAIK, it is a house-branded Daiwa Tierra. I have one and would take it over my President anyday. The Prez is fine but I seem to get more line twist with it.

throwing light baits on baitcaster?
So, you can throw a #5 Shad Rap just as well with a baitcaster as somebody could with a spinning rig? I'd like to see this....especially if there is any wind present. I know that I can toss a 1/8 oz Snagless Slider w/Producto 4" worm with my Revo SX but I can do a MUCH better job (accuracy and distance) with my spinning rigs for light stuff such as this. And.... what do you tell guys that say "I suck with a baitcaster"?? I bet you'd tell them to practice, right??

Tungsten Difference?
Don't have tungsten, but do use brass sometimes. I'll use lead until it's no longer available, because it's cheaper. There are certainly times it's nice to have a harder weight too and I'll stick to brass for that.

Need for spinning gear?
My wrist gets beat up if I'm doing a lot of pitching, but I've got arthritis setting in on them thats a large part of that problem. Right now, I'm fortunate not to have back or elbow pain and lightweight, balanced rods have helped a ton with the wrists.

Do you reveal your good fishing lakes/spots?
For me, it's "don't ask and don't tell". I'll find my own fish and don't want/need anyones help because finding them is what I enjoy most. They can find their own too. "Where'd ya catch 'em?" Shallow or deep is the answer, I won't lie about that. "What'd ya catch 'em on?" I will tell this too, whatever it was, won't lie to them. The only people that know of any of the specific "spots" I visit are those I take with me (and others that know the lake of course). I have only one close friend that fishes and he's not very serious. Otherwise, just my 2 boys. Nothing is "secret" on any of the lakes I fish. Plenty know the lakes. Lots of people can't find the high percentage areas or "spot on the spot" anyway and that is stuff I would NEVER tell. There is one guy on our lake who watches me all the time. Last year he watched me work a hump for over 2 hrs. I boated a good limit in that time and left. He followed me to shore when I went in for lunch and talked with me, asked what I was fishing out in the middle of nowhere. I told him "go look". He was a nice a guy and I've talked to him since and he's caught fish there but not the 3lb'ers he saw me boat that day. He'll figure it out on his own, and I have no problem with that at all, the water is public property. He respects that I'm not going to give away everything, I respect him for that. I suspect he wants to do it on his own anyway.
