hooks
gamakatsu. its pretty much my favorite brand because i have a bunch of them from a few value packs that i got for a good price. once they run out, i would not be opposed to using a different brand. i'm not that brand loyal when it comes to hooks. like Tom said, except for Eagle Claw, i like every hook on that list, but like i said earlier, i use Gammy's the most because i have a bunch.

second outing, first fish
i think i saw a few spawning at that pond. there were big swirls in the shallows, followed by little fish jumping. either they were chasing fish out of the bed, fanning out the bed, or just eating up for the spawn. either way they're active. idk what the temp was, i need to start bringing a thermometer with me, but i was standing in the water in flip flops and shorts, and the water was very warm on my feet.

Goldfish?
yeah, def. don't use goldfish. they are terrible little creatures. if you want live bait, go to walmart and buy a minnow trap for 7 or 8 bucks and set it at the fishing spot a day in advance or so and come back and it should have plenty of small fish in it.

tru-life 4" swimbait
good luck. 20 is the retail, and seeing as these baits are so new and popular (in demand) i doubt they'll go on sale any time soon.

Rapala DT Fat 01
i've used mine a good part of two trips now, and i've noticed that it definitley does not go down to 1 foot. on a normal retrieve speed, it will go down a few inches, like 6" or less. today i did some serious burning with this bait and managed to strike the bottom of some shallow spots, that were probably 1 foot deep. definitley more of a wake/bulge bait than a diver. i still think it will be KILLER later in the season

your number one bass catching bait!?!?! (lure you caught the most bass on all time)
exactly. mines a 5" trick stick also. or maybe a rapala DT (all models combined).

second outing, first fish
we went fishing 2 weeks ago (took out the new boat) and my dad caught 1 bass and 3 pickerel, and i didn't get squat. it wasn't fun for either of us because it was very cold and windy. we went out shore fishing today to our (my) favorite spawn location, a chain of 4 ponds in a neighboorhood. we started out fishing at the biggest pond, where i caught my top two pb's. this pond is really shallow around the edges, and its got big bass, and its pretty easy to shore fish. didn't see any bedding bass at all. the only bass less i saw were two that were than a foot long each. my dad caught a small bass shortly after we got to this pond. then after maybe an hour and a half we drove over to the other pond, out favorite over all pond of this chain, and not too long after we got there we saw a big splash right next to us on the shore. my dad casted over there with a trick stick and got bit, but when he set the hook his knot gave! about 30 min later i went over to the other side of the pond where it is real shallow and then kinda drops off. i like to wade out to get around all the water that is only inches deep and fish the drop off. i went over there and started catching fish. this is my first bass of the year, 15.5" and probably 2lbs (the scale was w/ my dad on the other side) i kept draggin that worm along where the real shallow water started to get deeper and i managed 3 more fish. didn't get a pic of the last fish because it was small and i was wading and didn't feel like getting the camera out. here are fishes # 2 and 3.

Photo finish pattern
When you are printing the image from your computer you can reverse it using any simple photo editing or painting software. If you don't know how to do it, tell us what operating system you are using and if you have any photo editing software and we can tell you how to do it. As far as Dave's comment about printing on the full-size sticker sheets, that is what I do and recommend. jeez, i need to read more carefully. when i read his question, i thought he meant mirror images as in shiny, not as in reverse. lol :

Photo finish pattern
print the fish image on tissue paper and glue it to foil (or foil tape) and then glue (or stick) the foil(tape) onto your bait. you can print on tissue paper by taping a piece of tissue paper onto a piece of printer paper (dull side of the tissue up). be sure to completely tape the edges down, or it could foul up as it runs through the printer. only tape the edges though. i have found that if you do the tissue/foil method, you get a decent image that is reflective, however, if you just print on printer paper and then glue that to foil and then on the bait, it provides more detail but its not reflective at all. the easiest method i could think of would be to just use full sized adhesive sticker paper in your printer. you can buy it at staples, etc. i really want to try this. i think next time i go out i'll pick up some of this adhesive paper and try it out. heres a great tutorial on how to photofinish: http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/hardbait-how/12431-photo-finishing-foil-faux-finishes.html
