  1. well its VERY hard to tell because there is really nothing to scale the fish against. the only thing to put the fish to scale is the pliers, and they look pretty big compared to the fish, so i'm going to say it looks to be about 2-2.5 lbs.
  2. whatever works for you! but next time you cant find your gloves try putting your thumb past the teeth. by the way, how big was that fish? did you get a weight or any measurements?
  3. try putting your thumb past the jaw, then your thumb isnt resting on those teeth and you won't get scraped up so much.
  4. ummmmm, there are thumbs on your hands for a reason but nice fish! just dont hold them w/ pliers anymore... :-/
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UNfNpjWz-Y I dont think its up to Metallica standards if you ask me :-/. are you kidding? that song is super awesome! its different but it is still great. i like how the song dynamic changes from very mellow to heavy in the middle of the song. good stuff.
  6. only one died the rest changed and moved on and still put out some great music! that will be awesome if this whole album is on Guitar Hero: Metallica. i also cant wait for that guitar hero to come out. does anyone know if GH: Metallica will be all metallica or if it will have several metallica songs and then some of the songs that influenced metallica, kinda like GH: Aerosmith?
  7. i'm sure he'll speak up when he gets it
  8. i cant wait for metallica's new album "Death Magnetic" to come out. i have heard the song "The Day that Never Comes" 3 times on XM radio already. its such a good song! i also heard the live version "Cyanide" that metallica played at ozzfest. that is a great song too! this new album is gonna rock!
  9. thats on aggressive perch! i really put a hurtin on the perch with inline spinners on ultralight rods/reels, give them a try.
  10. im not sure what that picture is trying to say? well i think that spro did copy mattlures, thats pretty hard to argue. but i still think they both will be great baits! im not the type who won't use a lure because its a knockoff. if the spro is cheaper than the mattlures i will give it a shot. if they are the same price, i would go with mattlures because mattlures looks a little bit better than the spro.
  11. thats just great paul! i want an 8lber + soooo much! you just make it look so easy : ;D
  12. here is my latest swimbait. i really like the way this one turned out, but it will soon be finding a home in the tackle box of another honorable bass resource member...
  13. hmmm i dont like rapalas advertising style. while rapalas DO work (rapalas are my favorite hardbait), i dont like how they advertise. based on watching the subwalk and gliding rap videos, they are giving me, the consumer, the impression that this is some kind of new technology.....its not. personal lure makers have been making sinking walk-the-dog baits for a very long time. they are very popular for musky.
  14. i'll make it well known I HAVE NEVER FISHED A HAWG SHAD but why are you ragging on them so much? they look like pretty good lures to me.... nice natural colors. i dont think they could be as good as they claim, but they still look usable.
  15. honestly, that water doesnt even look that low-vis. it looks to me like some of the ponds around here that just have dark water, but the visibility is actually pretty good. anyway, i would be using a rapala DT 03, DT 4, or DT 6, depending on the visibility. color: silver or shad or match the forage. call me the odd one out but i have very good success using natural colors in stained water. the way i see it, the fish still have to eat whatever is in the pond, so why not just match the forage. this lure will look the same as the natural forage that is in there, so the bass should be eager to eat it.
  16. that is very impressive action. its got a very fluid motion, just like a fish. that thing should catch you plenty of bass.
  17. i think before you get a small watercraft, you should make a smaller investment and buy yourself a good scale! but that is a super great fish man! definitley looks like a 6lber to me! but i thought i told you to keep those green pumpkin chartruese laminate trick sticks a secret ;D
  18. nice fish but i still dont see why using braid is such a bad idea? :-?
  19. Don't worry bout the slump. I'm in a massive one. I've had alot of zeros this summer on lakes that I know really well. It happens to everyone. A combination of you continuing to fish and the water cooling down is gonna bring you some good results soon. Keep on keepin on dude. yup this is so true, thats why i havent given up for a while. i just think of it this way: it can only get better
