  1. thats pretty sweet! i kinda like duckweed. i like it most when not all of the pond is covered, just some. i caught 18 bass in one day (my presonal record) by dragging a 7" powerworm over duckweed using an ultralight rod and reel and 6lb line! those were some awesome fights. never broke off once!
  2. wow nice fish! is it nailed to the tree??? thats pretty ironic that he caught the same one you did! ;D
  3. devcon 2-ton epoxy thinned down the the desired viscosity with denatured alcohol
  4. ^ has a pretty groovy avatar himself
  5. ^ sent this thread back to the bottom of the second page because nobody had anything to say about him. ;D
  6. i wanna see this movie! any idea when it will play again on USA? maybe i'll just try to find it online...
  7. I guess you missed the burying of Chef a year or so ago. Parker & Stone did not part amicably with Hayes. i sure did miss that. what season and what episode?
  8. guess that means no more Chef in any new episodes of south park! :'(
  9. ok but why is it's mouth all decroded looking?
  10. this bluegill was just floating in this position, with its mouth out of the water, occasionally propelling itself with its tail fin. any idea what is wrong with it? PS: this bluegill is in the same lake that had the big shad kill last week which i read in the newspaper was due to low oxygen levels because of an algae bloom.
  11. thanks guys! Big M, give it a shot, if i can do it surely you can Jimzee, i like the baby bass too. i like the two that are hand painted a little bit more than the bluegill. although the bluegill is total sexyness. i guess i like them all equally.
  12. never tasted freshwater striper, but saltwater striper (called rockfish locally) are about the best eatin' around. to me, the fresh largemouth taste VERY similar to striper.
  13. im not sure how big of a difference it would make, but i would clean them first. fresh bass sure is tasty! i might have to keep a few pretty soon for a fish lunch.
  14. thanks! i now have them all weighted properly so they sink about a foot per second (maybe a little slower) and they sit on their hooks when they reach the bottom. all that is left is to fill in the weight holes with epoxy. then i'll be catching some fish on these!
  15. WELL.... i got the lure finished. well at least i thought they were finished. i put 2 coats of thinned epoxy and got a satisfactory clear coat, but then when i put them in a bucket of water to see their rate of fall, they all floated! so now im not quite finished. i gotta go out and drill some more holes and pour some more lead and then cover up with paint and epoxy. THEN i'll be finished.... lesson learned.... test before finish.
  16. i like the crackle effect on the bottom one
  17. i got the bass pro power plus trophy class rod rated for 1-4 oz for $25 and so far my only complaint is that the rod is pretty heavy in terms of weight. other than that it gets the job done quite well! its great for a 25 dollar rod.
  18. only instument i play is my braided line running through the guides of my st. croix avid

Bass Pro brand duolock snap. never had one open up!
  20. like bowtech said, tip up and reel fast to get the buzzbait to the surface. once its on the surface you can slow down a bit to get it just barely gurgling on the surface. as for the jitterbug, i dont think it is too small. my only suggestion is to use a snap or tie onto it using a loop knot (rapala knot). this should allow more range for movement and might help get some action.
  21. sweet fish! congrats on the new pond too
  22. thanks for the compliments. either the baby bass or the bluegill always seem to be everyone's favorite the thinned epoxy worked great! the bluegill looks even awesomer with the epoxy clear coat as for selling them, i might sell a few. i dont want to get overwhelmed with having to make them for other people that it loses its fun.
