  3. went out to two ponds today. once again, all fish were caught on ***! at the first pond my dad caught a nice dink on a green pumpkin chartruese lam. ***. then i caught a real dink (8") on a junebug ripper worm. then he caught a pretty chunky 1.5lber on the same ***. it had a real nice gut for a bass of that size. then we decided that pond was crap so we drove down to the next pond. he caught a bass on a green pumpkin ripper worm on his first cast. then it got pretty slow. i hooked up with a bass on a smoke blue pepper *** and landed it. it was a keeper...barely. abou 15 minutes passed and i caught another bass not too far off from where i caught the other one on the same worm. dad: 3 bass (biggest) me: 3 bass
  4. me too! ;D im fishing it in the pond i caught my PB in tonight
  5. I know you are working on you own project and I hope it turns out well, but drawing a pattern, cutting your design and painting the wood doesn't mean you have a "producing lure". You have to start somewhere, but for most of us it's going to be at the tackle shop or on the internet, not the lathe. 8-) its really not that difficult. and the advantages are that you can make it exactly how you want, and its VERY low budget! you might pay 10 bucks in supplies that will be able to make 2 or 3 baits, instead of paying 20+ for one bait. plus, they are so fun to make ;D
  6. just in the bath tub. see the video a few pages back. i am going to fish this bad boy tonight and i'll let ya'll know how i do!
  7. bassinassassin, i suggest you make your OWN swimbaits to your OWN specifications so they are how YOU want them.
  8. a REALLY good water filtration system :-X
  9. here are some pics of the finished product (sorry for all the fingerprints on the bait, should have wiped it off first :-/)
  10. any weedless plastic crawled along the top. as long as its crawlin up there, they cant stand it. doesnt matter what it is. they will hit!

  13. whoa that stuff isnt tolerated on this board! suprised a mod hasn't caught that post yet. tin is a funny guy and he was joking. there aren't many personal attacks on this board and if there are any they are resolved. you should consider changing your ways if you plan on sticking around here for a while.
  14. 3lb 4oz bass caught on a green pumpkin chartruese laminate trick stick. 3.25 / 11.125 x 100 = 29.21 2lb 7oz bass (left side of pic) caught on rapala DT-03. 2.4375 / 11.125 x 100 = 21.91 soft plastic: 29.21 hard bait: 21.91 topwater: ______________________ total points: 51.12

  18. areosmith aint got nothin on metallica gh: metallica is scheduled to come out before fiscal 2009 ends, and fiscal 2009 ends march 31, 2009, so it will be released sometime before then!
  19. thanks. i cut out the rough (very rough) outline with a coping saw, but i cut it very crooked, so i did A LOT of shaping with the dremel. i also cut the joints and mouth with the dremel.
  20. here is a preview of my next bait which is in the making:
  21. i like how most of those arrows in the diagram point at nothing! ;D
  22. sam, i am working!!! working on baits that is. max, there is a lot of weight in the head. two weights plus the weight of the trebel hoks makes the head pretty heavy. also, the chains are very durable. i glued them into the body with D2T, so there is no way they are pulling out. with the first coat of epoxy all cured, i need to clear it up away from the chain because it has stiffened up the chain and limited the movement. here is a picture of the bit with the first coat of epoxy cured: here is some fast work for you: i'm not even done my first swimbait and i'm already a quarter of the way thru my second!
  23. the scale on bass resource consistantly weighs fish higher than they really are. the best weight estimation (IMO) would be this formula: LENGTH x LENGTH x GRITH = WEIGHT IN POUNDS 1200
