  2. flech, does that method of soaking the epoxy into the wood using acetone work when its applied OVER paintjob or foil job?

  4. ^ needs to sign into AIM so i can pwn him in ways that would not be appropriate on this forum
  5. ^ has a similar sense of humor as me! (ikes post about brett's pic made me laugh so hard!!!! bassboy's post about ike was also great!)
  6. 5" *** (smoke blue pepper) tex-posed with a 4/0 gammy g-lock and a parasite clip.
  7. wow that is a VERY nice looking bait. i havent seen a hand painted trout that good in a very long time. i like how random you made the spots. i can never manage to get them very "random".
  8. dont worry about it man! glad to help i dont remember specifically where i got the foil, but check your local hardware store for a roll of foil tape. chances are i got it at true value or lowes. i got the wood at walmart. they call it a 5x7" value plaque. im not sure what kind of wood it is, but it is 97 cents per piece of this wood that is 5"x7"x3/8". what i do is i will cut the piece in half and glue two halves together to have a thicker body. see my thread "a swimbait in the making" for more detail on my building process. i am going after bass with this bait!!!!!
  9. thanks! i cant wait till i finish it and my rod comes in so i can fish it.
  10. ^ caught the biggest bass on the traveling lure.

someone should kill it (i dont mean that in a mean way). it looks very unhappy and struggling.
  14. fishes on the awesome potomac river! (did you catch your 10lb there?)
  15. i cant wait to see all the other new hardbaits hes got up his sleeve!
  16. never heard of the finesse minnow, are they still around? do you have a link for them?
  17. i've never heard of anyone putting fiberglass resin on a swimbait, or any bait at all... are you trying to put this on for the clear coat? if what you are after is a thick, strong, clearcoat, then you should use Devcon 2-Ton epoxy. pick it up at your hardware store. comes in a two part syringe. what most people do is mix this stuff reallllllly well on a post-it or the bottom of a soda can, and then brush it evenly on the bait. then they rig their bait up on a lure turner, which slowly rotates the lure so that the epoxy will not sag or run. hope that helped a little.
  18. what a great day but man that sucks real bad about losing your bait like that! thats why im kinda hesitant about buying soft swimbaits, it would kill me to pay 23 bucks for a bait and then have it destroyed by a fish. i'd rather have a hard swimbait that will last thru many fish. good thing you bought two!
  19. how do your baits always have such uniform shape? do you buy pre-made bodies?
  20. i hear you cant go wrong with 3:16, but i think they might be more expensive than you are looking for i also hear spro bbz-1 is good
  21. Hmmm... You never tried a Chug Bug or a Wiggle Wart :-? i guess i should have classified...only "softbait" worth buying and no i havent tried either of those two...i stick to rapalas as my hardbaits.
  22. i caught one nice bass on one and then my next cast i hooked into a huge snapping turtle and it broke the lure. they are very delicate, but they do catch fish. they are my favorite storm product (pretty much the only one worth buying).
  23. Cheez-It with JIF peanut butter ontop with a glass of milk!!!!!
