berkeley power hawgs are good ones...its a creature kind of bait w/ lots of apendages also ill just use a 4" curly tail grub. both of those are multipurpose trailers...but i use them for bottom fishin. i dont have very good luck w/ jigs. i try to fish them alot, but i only caught 3 fish on them.
  2. should be fine as long as you seal whatever they are in up. but dont store different colors w/ each other because the WILL bleed. ive had it happen and it sucks. ruins a whole bunch of plastics.
  3. my dad snagged this one w/ a weedless spoon while fishin a farm pond. it was swimmin in the water when he snagged it...(made me take it off the hook tho! thing bit me too :'() when i go bluegill fishin down at my pond, there are always massive (i mean massive) amounts of really big bullfrog tadpoles (golfball sized). sometimes if the fish arent biting, ill toy w/ then and snag them. i took my blowgun down there once to get a few...worked too!
  4. NATURAL SHAD ALL THE WAY!!!!! that is my confidence color. for some reason the watermelons never seem to produce for me. i think what it is is that they match the water color and are hard for the fishies to see.....anyone know why the watermelon colors never produce, whn i can switch to shad or red and catch lots of fish?
  5. if it holds up then it should be killer!!!!! that is so innovative! ill bet it imitates surface crawlin bugs real well...how big is it?
  6. was the prop on the trebbel or was it infront of it? coulda been a heddon torpedo.
  7. ooook thanks now i get it! so about how much should i thread on there for a 3/0 hook?
  8. mmmmmmmm those are some nice thick filets!!!!
  9. thanks a bunch ronnie...thats exactly what i'll do. it makes perfect sense and i wouldnt have even thought of that. i understand the concept, but im not totally sure on how to do this.....normally you would insert the hookpoint in the head of the worm, well this time to i just stick it in however far back i want?
  10. also my numba one fav. senko style bait! def. gotta get the 3x version though. i like lighter colors, like shad or white....i find that the watermelon color blends in w/ the water and dont get as many strikes. i have good luck w/ the red shad colors too. these things are indestructible!!! i rig them wacky rig....they are just so wiggly that fish cant resist!!!!
  11. hmmm so the popping lip is separated from the actual bait???? thats strange. you said its also a hardbait, not soft? where did you see this? r u sure it wasnt some lure that some private company that no bodies ever heard of made it?
  12. i know that kinami is made by GY's son. it says yamamoto enterprises on the top. i never really took the time to figure out the unit price but the main reason i get them is because they are much more common around here. only one store sells GYCB, but i can think of three off the top my head that sell kinami.
  13. they way i cooked it was i seasoned up the filets real good (too many ingredients to list) wrapped them all up in the same tin foil "bag" and put it on the grill for maybe 10 min. that way they are cooking in their own juices and its crazy delicious. i dotn like fried fish. bass meat is white meat.....just looks like plain fish...nothin special. its pretty flaky delicious too!!!! ;D
  14. wats that little circly thing infront of the head and behind the line tie in point?
  15. imo, they are over rated. sure theyre nice...but they are expensive! if you have money, and confidence, then go ahead and use the GYCB, i however have the confidence, but not the money, so i buy the cheaper stuff like kinami and tiki stick. same great action, only half the price! one senko-type plastic that i do buy that is kinda high priced is the strike king 3x zeros. those are amazing. they are so strechy and soft and wiggly and durable. i love waky rigging, and when i do that heres what i've found: kinami last for a couple fish, tiki last for a few more, and 3x zeros last forever! they seriously never get torn up.
  16. my thoughts exactly! matt fly, thats what i think too!
  17. if its hot out and the fish are sluggish, try texas rigging huge soft plastic worms weightless and crawling them along the bottom in deep water.
  18. i find that bass taste almost as good as stripers. i love them. i had three last year and i wanna keep some next time i go.
  19. well see....i wanna fish big worms for two reasons: 1) its part of a challenge that was organized on another club, and 2) im goin for big slow bass...and big worms are the ticket. i just looked at the worm again and its a culprit, so only a quarter of the worm is the actual bumpy ribbed part for the hook, the next quarter is just a big smooth section, and the other half is all tail. my hook would take up about a quarter of the worm (the whole bumpy part). so what ill do is i'll thread a second hook thru adn keep that worm aside while i fish a single hooked one and see how i do w/ that one. if i need to ill switch to the double rigged one.
  20. im gonna be fishing some big ole 10" worms in a weed choked pond on sunday. so i definitley want to t-rig them. but my question is with a worm that big, and only a 3/0 hook, will i be missing a bunch of fish? should i just let the fish have the worm a little longer before i set the hoook? what should i do? o and these are the biggest hooks i have so i cant switch to a bigger hook. should i rig it w/ two hooks?
  21. well ill just have to try it and find out now wont i?
  22. great job boro. ill be fishin for the big ones on fathersday using some 10" worms.
  23. i just dont see a need to pay that much when i can get a rapala for 6 bucks. now a rapala is an outstanding bait!
  24. o shoot! i didnt even realise that the titie said lucky strike. i say lucky and assumed it was lucky craft. i forget what lucky strike makes...dont they make swimbaits and stuff?
  25. actualy ALOT of soft plastics dont have any scent. like just about the only kind i can think of that do have scent are powerbait. zoom doesnt ahve scent, storm doesnt, culprit doesnt...and so on. yeah it says on the bottle that it has some kind of oil in it i think its like anise oil that gets rid of other scents that repel fish.
