  1. Thanks for the link. A place that actually ships to Canada, and for free!!
  2. Bear's really greasy. Doesn't taste bad, but I wouldn't go looking for it, if you know what I mean. As to the other part - I don't understand?
  3. You're welcome to some of mine. Pick up only, no deliveries.
  4. All the time. She seems to believe that one rod and reel is all I need/ever will need. Worst part (for her) is getting back into fishing was her idea.
  5. I like them both. Mostly I use the Paca chunks and Baby Paca Craws. They have great action and are a little easier on the wallet.
  6. Thanks - Hadn't thought about using it for pike. 1oz spinners and spoons in May soundds like lots of fun. Otherwise she wouldn't see water until the end of June. :'(
  7. x2 up here anything over 5lb is a real trophy
  8. Just got an unbelievable deal on an St. Croix Legend Elite 76 MHF. I wasn't planning on buying another BC this year but this was just too good to pass up. I'm planning on using it mostly for pitching jigs. What else could I use it for? C rigs?
  9. The Revo Inshore would be another possibility. Slightly higher gear ratio, but you could add a power handle which should make burning bucktails etc. pretty smooth. Has the same 24 lbs of drag as the Winch.
  10. Dude, I have serious respect if you're willing to paddle 2 to 3 miles out onto Lake O in a yak. I'll do a lot of crazy stuff fishing, but that's out of my league.
  11. G Loomis SBR813. It's a fantastic rod for throwing bigger spinnerbaits.
  12. Soft plastics are the go to. Favourite is definitely topwater
  13. A hat, a shopping cart and a seagull. I've luckily just avoided beavers and otters but both have come very close to getting snagged.
  14. Bobby - do you only ship to the US? I've tried to register before as I really want to get some megastrike and having great jigs and buzzbaits available at the same time doesn't hurt either. But because I won't enter a state, I can't register even after selecting Canada as my country. Cheers.
  15. When the weather and water get cold its got to be a hair jig. Maybe its confidence, maybe its the action, but starting in October (up here) hair jigs just plain outfish plastics for smallies.
  16. Tubes, hairjigs and suspending jerkbaits fished really, really slowly.
  17. Yay!! Must admit I'm not an old timer, but do enjoy Honeymooner reruns.
  18. Small, narrow, spring fed lake in northern Ontario. Surface temperature around 76. Water is relatively clear, easy visibility to 10 ft. Water level is now constant due to constructed outflow. Both ends of lake are shallow flats 0.5-2 ft of water with stumps. Many, many blow downs line sides. Water there drops off from 4 ft at bank to 20-25ft quickly. Max depth unknown but probably around 40ft. Bottom is silty with occasional large granite boulders and sparse weedbeds, mostly milfoil. As well as aforementioned blowdowns. Species in the lake: Smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, speckled trout and perch.
  19. I really like them for fishing tubes. Others have suggested burning them with Kalin's 5" grubs, never tried it so can't comment on this use.
  20. I like the 4" Mizmo tubes in Road Kill and June Bug
  21. I don't see how a little section of heat shrink tubing in the centre of the Senko, to reinforce where the hook passes through is going to mess with the action. Once I find the size, I'll report back. :-/
  22. Finally got sick and tired of losing a Senko for every fish caught, particularly when fishing wacky. I remember someone suggested electricians heat shrink tubing really adds to the longevity. Now what size? I went to Home Depot today and 1/4" looks too small but 1/2" looks way too big. Is there an intermediate size? or does the 1/4" fit? For those that use the shrink tubing what size and any preferred brands? Cheers!
  23. The time has come to upgrade my general purpose spinning rod. I use it to fish plastics exclusively Senko's, Ika's, curly tail jigs etc. Which would you choose and more importantly why? St. Croix AVS70MF Techna AV AVS70MF Crucial CRS70M Cheers!
