I fished the hell out of my DS glide bait. They only wanted the real prey forage trout. Got a 6lb 13 ounce 21 inch fish. She hit after I popped the bait off the bottom. Had another solid whack. Got a decent pickerel as well.  So close to 7lbs!!!!!!

How does that glide cast? I've been meaning to pick up something like that or like a Bullshad glide but didn't know how it would do in wind so I've stuck with thinner profile glides for the most part.

Finally got my goal bass, I’ve been hunting this fish for years. Countless hours and heart breaks.  I started out waking up at 430 am, feeling like crap, mixture of expired cheese and a couple of be

It cast pretty good. It’s a thin bait. I can get a good cast with it. I friggin love this bait. No bait had single handedly  caught this many giants for me. The 2nd closest is a 9

inch black slammer, lot of 5s and 6 on it.

That's good to hear. I've been tossing my 250 around a bit getting more in tune with the retrieve but it's a lot of bait haha.

You ever seen or try any MDC swimbait glide baits?

I’ve got on a good bite with the 175.   With this glide, I like the bump the reel slow

How long and deep is that bait?

It’s 8 inches. Pretty deep but thin girth. It’s not a bulky bait, but has a big profile

I'll tie a few more that size in rainbow trout colors. Thanks!

Bought a new net and proceded to have the worst day so far this spring. I think the fish knew!

No giants this weekend. Fished sunrise both days.   Got a couple of dinks on Saturday!
Skunked this morning. But had one of the biggest bass I’ve ever seen smash the glide on the surface but it missed the bait!

Yea for better or for worse if it was me I'm going back every chance I get lol.

My buddy also lost, what he said was at least 9lbs” lost it at the net

Stuck a 5-13 yesterday, 2nd cast on the Ds glide! Had so many big fish follow it but wouldn’t bite!

I fished Bantam Lake in CT yesterday. I launched around 1:00 and wrapped up around 6:00. The water temp peaked at 58 degrees. It was a tough day fighting the wind. I caught a few perch and a 3 lb Pickerel. I still haven't a caught a bass this year! Tomorrow I'm fishing The Q. Hopefully tomorrow is the day.

Had some luck over the weekend. My April has been much improved over last year, maybe it is never too early to get the spinner bite going.

Quick trip to Whitman's Pond in Weymouth during my lunch break and finally got my first bass of the year, first cast with a spinnerbait and snagged this 2lb 1oz LMB. no other action though.

I spent the day on the Ranger, splitting between Great Herring and Billington Sea.  Both were a grind.  The highlight reel is short: My first cast at GH was a 1-8 SMB on a bone Whopper Plopper 110 (my first topwater fish this year) and a 2-3 LMB at Billington with a perch Vision 110.  Numbers were OK, with a mix of SMB, LMB, Yellow Perch, and one pick.  One SMB ate a 4.8" Keitech Fat Impact.  Everyone else needed coaxing with some type of treble hook bait.  My perch Vision 110 proved most valuable today.

Water temps at Great Herring were 56.x - 57.x and 58.x-59.x at Billington Sea.  Air pressure was 30.2 in the morning and 30 in the afternoon.

Good luck!

No joy @DogBone_384.

I spent the day getting kicked all over the Q. I had one SMB on early, but it came unbuttoned at the boat. Otherwise I took the skunk. My fishing partner came up with nada as well, not even a hit.

I think I'm taking this week off, maybe the wind will finally calm down.

Monday, small shallow pond in the southern Berkshires. Got there about 9am, tried the south side 1st, water temp 50, roughly 5-10 mph winds, got a couple pickerel. Moved to the north side around 11, water 53/54, a little more wind. Got a mix of more pickerel and some mid size bass, maybe 4 of each on Rage Craws, biggest was 3 lb. Not a bad few hours but it was cold.

It's nice to get out before the weeds take over.

No bass fishing for me this week! But I did get my first fresh striper of the year. North of the cape, with sea lice. 25 inch feisty fish. She smoked the DS glide bait! C9040739-A157-4F1E-AD29-FB5C43E29475.thumb.jpeg.ce1998914986ade7ad69ae2da0eddc7a.jpeg

Tough day today. Spent the morning getting skunked on swimbaits. Wind was brutal. Afternoon I gave in and tried to just find some fish with a spinnerbait. Managed 7 but mostly dinks, 1 fat 2.5lber was the highlight. All on windblown shores. Water temps were still in the low 50s.

Thinking of doing a cape trip this upcoming weekend. I already have a spot for some kayak fishing but temps look a little low. Anyone got any recommendations/ideas for fishing the cape first week of May?
