  1. Can't believe it's already July. Is anyone going out in this heat? I have Friday off, it's going to be nearly 80 degrees already at 6am, trying to decide if it's worth it
  2. Too d**n windy. Tried to take the pond prowler out yesterday and lasted a whole 45 minutes before packing it in.
  3. Holy smokes. I thought I had a good weekend catching 35+ and 40+ crappie on Saturday and Sunday. I can't imagine 80 bass in a day. Well done! I might be up in Maine next week staying at an air BNB on Norway lake / Pennesseewassee lake. Plan to bring the boat. Any experience on that body of water?
  4. The Ollie's near me has a big box full of them, at only $3.99 per. If you have an Ollie's near you it's worth checking.
  5. Dobyns Beast spinnerbait lasts forever.
  6. Duplicate post, sorry don't know how to delete
  7. Caught this monster of a pickerel Monday after the weather cleared up nice mid afternoon. It's my PB pickerel by far, didn't get a weight as I was too excited and had it out of the water long enough trying to get a decent photo by myself. Caught it tight to cover in 2-3 feet of water with a Megabass karashi on a medium light rod. What a fight! Had to loosen drag and let it take my line under the boat a few times before finally netting him. Anyone have any guesses on weight? I'd say probably in the 3.5-4 pound range?
  8. Went out on a small lake today in Southern NH, and glad I did. Caught 41 fish in total in around 4 hours, by far my PB in in terms of numbers in a single session. 38 of those were pickerel, but still had a blast with the non stop bite. 2 small bass, and 1 crappie rounded it out. They couldn't resist my vision 110 Jr today. Caught 40 of the 41 on that, and the other was on a TRD ned rig. I had to re-tie my knot a few times due to their teeth fraying up my line, I'm mostly surprised I caught that many and didn't lose my jerkbait.
  9. WooHoo! Glad to be back!!
  10. For the karashi, just buy a few of the knockoff versions on ali express and put on your own rear feathered treble. I've caught hundreds and hundreds of fish on the knockoffs, never used a real one. So I can't comment on the comparison, but my success with the Knockoff karashi speaks for itself. The only real Megabass baits I have, and I will say are 100% worth the money are the vision 110 jerkbait series. I'm a big jerk bait fisherman, and these for me are a must. The way it's designed it has a perfect buoyancy when it's killed, meaning it doesn't float up nor sink, which seems to drive the fish wild.
  11. What a difference a few days makes. Went out yesterday on the boat and caught 14 total fish in ~3 hours. 11 pickerel and 3 largemouth. Caught 11 of the 14 on a Vision 110 in the matte shad color, 2 on a bladed jig mini Max, and 1 on a bladed jig elite Evo. Not sure why it felt like the bite got "switched on" but I'll take it. Couldn't keep the pickerels off my jerkbait.
  12. Nice, what were you throwing? How deep were they? I've only gotten 1 single pickerel in my last 3 boating trips... It's getting bleak
  13. Lot of good mentions in here already. Another around the $30 mark which is fantastic is a baitsanity Antidote 7 (the basic version, not the TUG as that's a bit more expensive)
  14. I'm really liking the Dobyns Beast spinnerbait. Thing is indestructible, and has a good head shape to come through cover
  15. Props to you guys still trying to get out there this late in the year. For me, it's not worth the effort and grind being this cold and bass being lethargic. I guess it gives me an opportunity to do some of my other hobbies on the weekend that I've neglected in favor of fishing all year
