  1. The Ollie's near me has a big box full of them, at only $3.99 per. If you have an Ollie's near you it's worth checking.
  2. Dobyns Beast spinnerbait lasts forever.
  3. Caught this monster of a pickerel Monday after the weather cleared up nice mid afternoon. It's my PB pickerel by far, didn't get a weight as I was too excited and had it out of the water long enough trying to get a decent photo by myself. Caught it tight to cover in 2-3 feet of water with a Megabass karashi on a medium light rod. What a fight! Had to loosen drag and let it take my line under the boat a few times before finally netting him. Anyone have any guesses on weight? I'd say probably in the 3.5-4 pound range?
  4. Duplicate post, sorry don't know how to delete
  5. Went out on a small lake today in Southern NH, and glad I did. Caught 41 fish in total in around 4 hours, by far my PB in in terms of numbers in a single session. 38 of those were pickerel, but still had a blast with the non stop bite. 2 small bass, and 1 crappie rounded it out. They couldn't resist my vision 110 Jr today. Caught 40 of the 41 on that, and the other was on a TRD ned rig. I had to re-tie my knot a few times due to their teeth fraying up my line, I'm mostly surprised I caught that many and didn't lose my jerkbait.
  6. WooHoo! Glad to be back!!
  7. For the karashi, just buy a few of the knockoff versions on ali express and put on your own rear feathered treble. I've caught hundreds and hundreds of fish on the knockoffs, never used a real one. So I can't comment on the comparison, but my success with the Knockoff karashi speaks for itself. The only real Megabass baits I have, and I will say are 100% worth the money are the vision 110 jerkbait series. I'm a big jerk bait fisherman, and these for me are a must. The way it's designed it has a perfect buoyancy when it's killed, meaning it doesn't float up nor sink, which seems to drive the fish wild.
  8. What a difference a few days makes. Went out yesterday on the boat and caught 14 total fish in ~3 hours. 11 pickerel and 3 largemouth. Caught 11 of the 14 on a Vision 110 in the matte shad color, 2 on a bladed jig mini Max, and 1 on a bladed jig elite Evo. Not sure why it felt like the bite got "switched on" but I'll take it. Couldn't keep the pickerels off my jerkbait.
  9. Nice, what were you throwing? How deep were they? I've only gotten 1 single pickerel in my last 3 boating trips... It's getting bleak
  10. Lot of good mentions in here already. Another around the $30 mark which is fantastic is a baitsanity Antidote 7 (the basic version, not the TUG as that's a bit more expensive)
  11. I'm really liking the Dobyns Beast spinnerbait. Thing is indestructible, and has a good head shape to come through cover
  12. Props to you guys still trying to get out there this late in the year. For me, it's not worth the effort and grind being this cold and bass being lethargic. I guess it gives me an opportunity to do some of my other hobbies on the weekend that I've neglected in favor of fishing all year
  13. School me on blanks. Are they clones, or factory blanks that somehow made it to a 3rd party? I'd be interested in buying some and painting my own of the action is the same/close enough to the real ones. Have any experience with the vision 110 blanks?
  14. The promotion seems to have ended
  15. Interesting, never heard of amazon haul until now. What did you get?
  16. Definitely. I remember one day this summer going up shallow and catching 9 or 10 crappie with it on 45 minutes
  17. Megabass Karashi is a fish catching machine. Worth the $
  18. Hi all, was browsing the fishing section at my local Ollie's discount store, and came across a couple of these older looking Xcalibur 1/2 oz lipless crankbaits. I know the brand Xcalibur is no longer, so I grabbed them figuring why not. They don't seem to be the infamous One knocker that has a cult following, and I can't find much of any info on this particular model. Has anyone used these before? I found it interesting it has 2 line ties, I've never seen that before. Has anyone used these before? Did I stumble upon an old hidden gem or just a middle of the road lipless? The box makes no mention of pradco, which was the company behind Xcalibur if I recall correctly, that's also confusing. Had some issues with file size limits so uploaded to imgur. Hope that's ok- https://imgur.com/a/N0AQAJ9
  19. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Checked out a video of the Duo under walker on YouTube and it seems to fit all my criteria with how it moves. They're on sale for $10 a piece at tackle warehouse so I ordered a couple.
  20. Hey all So the Karashi is one of my favorite baits to catch fish on, but to be honest about it, the majority of fish are smaller bass, pickerel, and crappie/sunfish, which is fine, but there are times I'd like something bigger that would mainly target bigger bass. I mainly fish the Karashi as a sub-surface walk the dog type. I fish I pretty fast, but not fast enough to be topwater. I typically prefer to walk it 6-12" under the top. Ive also played around with the rapala sub-walk 09 and it seems promising, but it's 5/8oz if I remember correctly. I'm curious if there is anything that behaves like the Karashi that is around 3/8 oz and with a larger profile.
  21. Perfect thanks for the comprehensive answer!
  22. Hi all, first actual post on the forum but have lurked and read for a long time. Like many other here, I love the Duo Rozante 77sp for finesse jerkbaiting. In fact it's one of my favorites. On one of mine, my hook bent out, and rather than trying to bend it back, I'd rather just replace it altogether. The problem is I don't currently have a scale to weigh the treble hook, and would like to match the stock hook weight as close as possible in order to keep the balance. Does anyone know the weight of the trebles used, or if you have one and a scale wouldn't mind weighing one for me. Thanks!
