Found an old Xcalibur lipless and can't find much info (pics)rmation on it

Featured Replies

Hi all, was browsing the fishing section at my local Ollie's discount store, and came across a couple of these older looking Xcalibur 1/2 oz lipless crankbaits. I know the brand Xcalibur is no longer, so I grabbed them figuring why not.   They don't seem to be the infamous One knocker that has a cult following, and I can't find much of any info on this particular model.  Has anyone used these before?  I found it interesting it has 2 line ties, I've never seen that before. Has anyone used these before? Did I stumble upon an old hidden gem or just a middle of the road lipless? The box makes no mention of pradco, which was the company behind Xcalibur if I recall correctly, that's also confusing.

Had some issues with file size limits so uploaded to imgur. Hope that's ok-

That's an interesting lure. I've never seen one.

I got your image to render.

That’s not the Xcaliber baits that were so popular before they were discontinued. Those baits got rebranded and are now sold under the Booyah name.

I haven't had the opportunity to fish one of the originals, but the Booyah One Knocker is absolutely one of my favorite lipless cranks to throw and responsible for my current biggest bass on the technique.

The packaging on this one in the OP looks like someone is just reusing the Xcalibur name, I couldn't find much information on the distributor other than a trademark registration. It's an active trademark that was registered by Canadian Tire, but I haven't found any info on if they purchased the rights to the Xcalibur name (or if they would even need to at this point).

If you reverse image search the Castaic bait I linked, you'll see a few other companies selling the same blank, mostly in Italy.

@NRJ1988 The Castaic version has been mentioned on BR here before positively, I would have no problem throwing that lipless to see how it does (after swapping out the hardware).

I've caught countless bass on that sexy shad one knocker. The Booyah and Yo Zuri clones not so much.

Is that knock off, or like a short run bait?

Ive got OG Excals, but most colors are bluegill and pumpkinseed colors which I didn't use much.  Most of the staple colors I had were lost due to attrition over the years.
