How does the drop and shimmy compare to other soft stick baits? I like the Kinami Flash and Yamamoto Senko  but we all know that one to three bass and they're pretty shredded.

Haven't used the zero but would like to recommend that you try the SK shimmy sticks. This is the best knock off I found yet as far as action personally.

Have used the zero,  and in my opinion they are one of the best stick baits out there.  They work great in cold water and only get softer and better the more fish you catch.

I think they are awesome.  If its the ones I'm thinking of it has the 3X plastic.  Mine were 3X and were extremely soft and durable and had a really good shimmy.  Most baits that soft will tear very easily.

How are you rigging them?   When I wacky rig Senkos I use O-rings and get more than a few fish outta 1 worm more often than not.

X2. They tend to lose the salt content after being chewed on a bit and start to float. Until then, great bait.

Sink rate about the middle of the pack, but great for wacky rigging as they won't tear off the hook as easy.

Another believer! These things are SOO durable and soft.

bassakwords, how cold are we talking? this cold water (low to mid 40s) is kicking my butt.

ive used them for a good long time and i gotta say.... for weightless wacky fishing or the like the zeros dont sink as fast as the other senko's... so i liked to use them over shallow grass.

i LOVED the zero rigged texas with a light sinker or the best ever is carolina rigged.

theyre great baits and they (like most lures) have their own little niche that they fill perfectly.

they dont have alot of action, but they catch BIG fish plus they are really durable due to the 3x material.

I've used "zeros" since they came out and I think I still have the first one I used. You can't kill these things. The action/shimmy is as good as any IMHO but I think the feel or texture is much better than the others I've used. Like someone else said, the start to become more and more bouyant with use. Once they start to float I like to throw them on braided line into the pads and twitch them slowly back to the boat. They also make a great "carolina rig" bait as they float along off the bottom behind your weight.

The only issue I had was learning the hard way not to have them come in contact with other plastic baits.

Just my 2 cents.

After they start to float try using them on a shaky head.....KILLER!

Another neat thing about these things - you can grab them in the middle before you rig them and stretch one side or the other to get them to shimmy down slightly more to one side or the other - you know, like under a dock. Pretty neat trick.

Fin, yeah I've been using them in 09 and they are great.They are more durable than Senkos. I just wanted to take the next step in durability and Ive read the ElazTech material is tough stuff.

I use the o-rings too. It's just when I tex-pose them, they get chewed up quick.

The Zero is one of my favorite stick baits, I love the action and fall of them and seem to catch more with them.

Can't remember which show but saw an interview with the owner and he claimed they won't lose the salt. Also that they don't get tacky because he uses a slightly different formula than Strike King.
