Lacrosse Affects You In The Worst Ways...

I've never had any really "major" injuries in lacrosse, only minor, but this tops off all the minor ones.

So we were doing drill today at Nike Camp and someone accidentally stomps on my big toe while trying to dodge. It hurt like the dickens. I though it was just like an owwie until I took my cleat off and my sock was soaked in blood. So once I get home and clean it up, its ooozing clear stuff, and you can clearly see the cleat circular spike thingy mark on my nail because where it hit was all white. Today after camp, when I took my sock off there was only minimal blood, but my whole toe nail was white, gray, blueish color and still hurts like a b****. I went to the foot doctor and got some codeiene (SP?) so it only hurts a bit now, but still sucks. I can also shift my toe nail a bit side to side now.

I think its gonna come off, which is gonna suck. I cant wear flipflops cause i dont want people to be like, he has no toe nail. And from what I hear their easy to get infrected/fungusy.

Atleast I dont have a concussion again... But this seems worse.

You'll be fine BC. The new nail will grow back thicker than before. Gonna be real tender for awhile.

One of my real good friends had a scholarship to college playing lacrosee, but his 6th and 7th concussion in his senior year lost that one for him....... be careful!

And I though all you guys did was run up and down the field hitting each other over the head with your sticks.

To think a toe injury could be so serious.

Get well and go out and continue to hit the other guys up side their head with your stick.

Here is a suggestion for your team.

Wear steel toe boots.

You all can come running onto the field with steel toe boots and not worry about foot injuries.

And you could create a new style in Lacrosse and get on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

suck it up and tough it out. i have no sympathy for others minor toe injuries when im sitting here with only 9 toes. got in a fight with a push mower and lost(slipped and foot went under). the big toe on my left foot is no more than a small nub now...

Awww come on now. It's just your toenail. I snapped a quarterbacks collar bone while playing football also broke ones arm on a man on man sack. My lil bro hit a receiver so hard in the chest it fractured four ribs and punctured the receivers lung. Lacrosse ain't got nothing on that.

As for the toenail issue. I will give you this. That junk hurts like all heck don't it? I hear cortisone injections make it feel much better though.

Also who cares if you got some jacked up looking toes or not. You have to be comfortable with and in your own body. If someone says something try to touch them with it. You would be suprised how often that gets people to buzz off.

It no longer hurts, but dang it likes to ooze. it just keep oozing out puss (Good thing I guess) but dang, it sure like to get my socks soaked in it.

Just make sure it doesn't get infected! I'm sure a nasty sweaty sock won't harbor any bacteria at all!!

Just tell everyone that you had your feet dangling in the water while fishing off of the dock and a big hawg came up and tried to pull you into the lake.
