Is The A-Rig Craze Over?

Featured Replies

Has the hype died down or is it still alive?

No way! The key time of year for this technique is coming up, people will smash them again this fall on the multi rigs.

The hype has died down due to people finding out that these wont catch a five fish limit every cast in a mud puddle, but they are going to get hot again in a couple of months. When they were introduced, the talk was how unfair it was to the fish for anglers to use these...after throwing one all summer, I have come to the conclusion that it is unfair to the angler to use these. THey take a toll on you, thats for sure! The hype has dewindled, but the rig will still produce!

I'll have an answer after this winter.

The Rig will be back in play in a few weeks as the shad begin schooling in mass.

Talking about it is over. Thankfully, lol. I destroyed them in the spring with it. I expect the same in the fall.

Like the others said...when the water starts cooling and the fish start following the bait, it will be on again for 'the rig'.

Once the shad start schooling and move to the back of the coves again it's going to be popular again. It's just like any other bait, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
