What are some off the wall baits that everyone does very well with? Would like to mix up my fishing with something a little different and that actually catches fish.

Swim jigs.

I recently "discovered" a combination new to me: 3/8 oz NorthStar

Swim Jig (Sexy Shad)/ Rage Tail Eeliminator (Blue Glimmer).

you could always try using some hard body swimbaits like the 6in bbz. i was watching bill siementel catching some big ones casting as close as he can to the wall.

My buddy tosses a 1/2 oz Flipping jig tipped with a 10" Powerworm. I've seen him land some friggin' hogs with it. I've also seen him lose a jig or two to pike (Southeastern Pa).

I've seen other guys tip buzz baits and spinnerbaits with Senkos, but that's a little less weird and more "Wow, you really think that thing is magical"...

Personally, I'm pretty old fashioned. To me, tossing a 10" worm is a little ridiculous, but they work. I also have a tough time tossing a swim bait much bigger than 5" (it's a confidence thing).

Try a swim jig tipped with a split ring swivel and a size 0 or 1 Indiana blade. No other trailer. It can be great on pressured or suspended fish!

An old guy I used to fish with alot tipped his spinnerbaits with live nightcrawlers. Worked for him.

I fish bigger swimbaits like a 6" weedless Hudd in lakes that don't have many big fish, like a 17" fish is a kicker fish. It's amazing how many more solid keeper sized fish I catch on swimbaits than I do all the guys that are finesse fishing. Whenever I'm on a good bite before a tournament I'll share the info of the fish I caught in practice and when someone asks what I caught them on I always reply the same "a bubblegum colored carolina rigged buzzbait by the dam."

"the electric chicken". a white/chartreuse swimjig with a 4" pink swimbait w/ yellow belly. i can't tell you how many fish i've caught on it in spring and fall when they didn't want the vibration/flash of a spinnerbait. i figured if trout like neon pink or green why not try it on bass. it worked awesome but i could not duplicate the success with pink senkos

A 10" worm ridiculous? That is one of my favorite baits! I have caught tons of fish on big worms and some under 10".
