Which Of These Reels

Featured Replies

I currently fish with the curado g, revo stx and lews tourney pro for my baitcasters and am currently looking for a new reel to try. the reels im looking at all have a price point of $200 currently and they are Shimano Chronarch200, Revo Premier and Ardent pro. Has anyone compared these reels against each other, if so how did you rate them.

I've fished the premier and the chronarch. both are great reels and it just comes to do "brand loyalty". I'd wait for the gen 3 Premier before you make your decision. If it were up to me, I'd go with the chronarch. The majority of my reels are shimano though. Either one would be a fine choice and perform great. I can't comment on the Ardent. I've never used one.

I'm an Abu guy so you know where my vote goes.

Very easy. If it's a casting reel, the name should start with a "C". If it's spinning, the name should start with an "S"! :laugh5:

Just kidding, never fished any of the 3, but I know which one I would have bought if I had the money.

Can't go wrong with Shimano or a Garcia.

Just throwing this out there.

I currently have a BPS Pro Qual, Lews Tourney pro and Okuma Helios. I really like the BPS PQ, the Lews is definitely an upgrade over it but very similar. I will be purchasing more Okuma reels in the near future. Amazing build quality, easy on the eyes, smooth retrieve, smooth drag, light!

I have STX and Chronarch200 like both...buy to match the color of the rdd :)
