Winter Question

Featured Replies

ive never fished for bass during the winter, mainly crappie. have a few questions but the main question is- are bass in deep or shallow water during the winter?

i tend to find them deeper, 10-25 feet. best results are water thats close to creek chanles. jigs or suspending crank baits

Some fish will stay shallow all year round, more will stay shallow the warmer the climate. A good way to find fish is look for the first deep water near areas where you were catching them late in the fall, they shouldn't be far from there. Wintertime fishing can be slow until you find the fish but once you find a school it's a blast!

IMO fishing in the winter is like fishing in the summer. You have to find them and get a pattern going.
