Alright.....

So say you are fishing in Cali, from the shore, right before dark...... when suddenly, you have one of these guys run up and bite you on the @$$ ! :)

That might get your attention pretty quick, huh ? :) LOL

Got to watch out for the Mandrils ;)

On a related note, I was fishing after dark, and Barbara Mandrell swam by my boat humming a tune.

Neatest thing for me was a bull moose swimming by while fishing a remote lake in northern Minnesota.

Deer, Snakes, Snapping Turtles,Spiders...and a giant water bug that was latched on to a shiner.

My worst case was on trout trip in southere Missouri, at the Rockbridge Rainbow Trout Farm & Gun Club. Cool name, eh? Neat place.

Fishing a run downstream, drifting a San Juan worm into a nice bunch of fish. Had my legs a little farther apart than normal, balancing on two rocks, with the hem of my shorts about 2 inches out of the water. Felt something hit my shorts, looked down and a cottonmouth fatter than my wrist swam right between my legs. I froze, scared spitless. Still gives me a major league case of the willies thinking about it.

He kept on going downstream. A very big brown snake in the water in front of me, and almost a big brown trout release behind.

So what's normal.

That big brown trout...Did you keep it?

Normal? Probably a Barney What's-his-name "wide stance".

That species of brown is not kept, simply dropped and released.

Redlinerobert - Fishing in the amazon huh? Thats awesome. Something most people only dream about. Im sure you've seen tons of cool stuff.

Highhawk - Thats great. Did you see the news article about the moose that got tangled in swingset? You can find it on youtube. A cop ends up freeing him.

Ghoti - Definitly dont wanna keep those trout. I hear they taste terrible. :puke1:

Great responses everyone. I've really enjoyed reading them. Keep em coming!

had a water moccasin try to get in the boat with me a couple years ago while floating down the warrior river. killed it with the paddle, had to get a new paddle after that trip, as it was pretty beat up. i didnt stop swinging until i was sure it was dead! and then had to scrape snake guts off the boat.

Except chipmunks there is nothing friendly about those evil little rodents. Especially if you try to pet one.

One time while on vacation, I had a couple chipmunks that would let me pet them and jump up onto my lap an take peanuts from me. Funny cute little guys if ya ask me.

My favorite kayak spot usually has swans, great blue herons, big snappers and other turtles, and muskrats.

I have one of those Have-A-Heart traps. Once I catch one, I drop it in a bucket of water. I hope that peanut is laced with strychnine.

When I was boatless, I spent alot of time fishing the lakefront in Chicago. Big rats and homeless drug addicts litter the lakefront during the early morning hours.

Mountain lions.....

Me too. I was fishing for brook trout way up in the Rockies and had that weird feeling like I was being watched. Looked up and there was a mountain lion sitting on a rocky ledge on the other side of the creek looking down at me. When he noticed me looking back at him he just casually got up and walked away.

that 'being watched' feeling has to be pretty sketchy when your somewhere with large predators. lucky for you he was on the other side of the creek.

I saw a legit liger today. Wasn't fishing though
