You know you are out of the South when you order tea and have to add the sugar yourself.

Isn't that the truth. I've lived in Florida for 45 years and remember when sweet tea was customary in most restaurant. Now they hand you sugar packets. But they have raspberry tea, yuck.

Haha, I ordered some BBQ the other day at a "BBQ" restaurant and asked for sweet tea. The lady said "We have unsweetened and raspberry, but not sweet." I asked her how can they sell "BBQ" and not have sweet tea. She said "Sorry," and I said "Me too, cancle my order" and walked out.

And that's why you're not Southern. A true Southern gentleman wouldn't have done that. We'd have eaten and then whispered about them at church on Sunday.

Oh, I assure you I'm southerner. My mistake was buying BBQ from a yankee transplant.

States that were members of the Confederacy are our southern states.

All others are wannabees.

WV had their chance they chose to leave back in the 1800s though.

I really hate to bust your bubble, but WV did not choose to leave the Confederacy. The people of WV did not request state hood during the war. Most people who fought fought on the confederacy side. We had asked to be annexed from VA prior to the war. WV was made a state under an executive order for the sole cause of bringing the number union states more than the Confederate states. WV is the only state in the continental 48 done this way, TX never applied for statehood either TX is a state by treaty with Mexico. I wouldn't advise telling a true mountaineer that they're a Yankee.

If you ever decide to get down here, I'll have some for you. Just give me a heads up.
