Anyone fished with this attachment?

No, but I've done similar mods with split shot. Looks like a clean alternative, and won't affect hookup on short shank hooks.

Maybe I'll give them a try, the theory is interesting.

Less is definitely more when weighting cranks. Also take a look at "jacking" deep divers. Basically a small, pegged bullet weight just before the line tie on a deep diver. You can basically get a bait to run 40' deep if you want. I use it mainly for trout, but no reason it shouldn't work for deep bass.

What is it?

A little corkscrew (think hitchhiker) with a weight in the end of it.

Screw it on the back treble of a crank and the description says it will act like it deflects off cover without actually doing so. Basically throws your crank out of tune. LOL

Yeh, they're pretty neat. I've gotten to use them a bit this year, but so little of the fishing has been a solid crankbait bite for us. They definitely make the bait erratic.

Mark Rose, who just won the Wheeler lake FLW event, mentioned modifying his deep divers to run a little deeper and this helped him to win. He didn't say what his modification was.
