Season Ends

Featured Replies

Well, today marked the final outing of the season for me. If I'd let the weather dictate my decision to go or not, I would've stayed home. Windy, rainy, changing conditions are not what I'd hoped for, but that's what I braved to get out one more time before waterfowl season starts.

My rain gear proved it's worth and my persistance paid off even though I was driven off the water by lightning for the better part of an hour. My final tally was 17 bass and two walleye and although none of them were anything to brag about, I was happy to end the season on a high note.

Now it's calendar watching time. Second week-end in March the power plant lakes open. Let's see, that's how many days? ;)

Sorry, man. Such is life in the great northern states.

Vacation awaits in the south, eh? Lakes open year around....

May your wait be short!

You had a good day despite the weather. Sorry to hear it's the end of your season.

Man, I'd go crazy if I didn't have power plant lakes that were open year round. I guess I'd probably just duck hunt a lot more :eyebrows:

Fishing season? I can fish year round in Alabama. My condolences.

Im assuming ice fishing isnt your cup of tea? Being on the ice helps me deal with cabin fever. Actually i enjoy ice fishing just as much as open water fishing. I laugh when people brag about 5+ lb bass they caught on a flipping stick with 50lb braid. Try catching a 3+ lb bass or catfish on a 17 inch UL ice rod with 2lb test fluoro, now thats fun. Pulling your hut and gear through 2 foot snow drifts isnt fun though.

I don't like you guys that can fish all year lol jk.....my lake get some ice but 90% of the time it is never enough to walk on.

Glad you went out with a bang and Im sorry to hear about it being the end for a while. Until I joined BR I never realized some people couldnt fish year round LOL. Never thought about it I guess. Lucky for me the water temps dont hit below 60 until about january and are back above 60 by april!
