Looks like a toss-up to me.  I'm not on either bandwagon, so I guess I'll pick the Ravens.

man i appreciate all the love on here for my beloved, wallowing in self-pity, dream team, never won a superbowl eagles :)

As far as what it takes to win a superbowl there seems to be a common thread here in the past 10 years.  Outstanding offense with a defense that has played well in the playoffs.

This is going to be a tough game and honeslty i think it is a flip of a coin.  These teams are pretty evenly matched top to bottom and play similar styles which isn't to surprising since the coaches are brothers and all.  I do think the wild card for this game is going to be Kapernick and what he does and special teams where Baltimore has the edge.

I am going with san fran to win, ray lewis to cry and the eagles to continue wondering who they are going to draft with the 4th pick in the draft.

I should have added what day they are going to release Michael Vick....1,2 or 3 days after the Superbowl.

  • Super User

Why would they wait for that?

  • Super User

For the dramatic effect of course....they have 3 days to release him or they have to pay him i believe, somewhere in the neighborhood of 8M i think.

This will more than likely be Justin's last chance for a SB ring.  I hope he gets it.

It's going to be one hell of a game!

I can't remember when there has been a more exciting SB to get ready for since 1999, I wish you luck !!!

Definitely more genuine story lines this year than in the past and so far none involve drunken late night debauchery.

I have never heard as many people say "you know i really like both teams" as i have this year.  This will be the first superbowl i have really looked forward to watching since 2004 :)

So, back to the game (the Eagles aren't playing).

It seems like the quarterback trumphs everything else in the NFL today.

Other than that position, what do you think is key to either team winning

The Big One?

For me the two best Super Bowls in the last 20 years were XXXII (Denver vs Green Bay) and

XXXIV (St. Louis vs Tennessee), the greatest final play in Super Bowl history. Mano-a-mano

and take no prisoners!

Sometimes the media sucks for the big game. I want to hear what the guys are thinking, who they are gunning for etc. Not about their personal lives.

I don't think there was a superbowl that had higher hopes for a QB than when Denver won with Elway, That game was the best, even if you were not a Bronco's fan you almost had to be that day.

Not superbowl related. But i read where Packers reciever Donald Driver has announced his retirement today. I always thought of him as a hard working reciever. He is def one of the NFLs underrated reciever

MVP?

In informal "wagering" with friends and co-workers I have been 100 percent wrong. I have picked every single game wrong. I'd have been better off flipping a coin.

I intend to guarantee a San Fran win and pick the Ravens to win, in a close, low scoring defensive battle.

MVP?

are you bustin chops or do you not know who he is? he was an average receiver.

He was an above average receiver who played in a market that gets a lot of media coverage.  I don't know whether or not hes a HOFer, but he was more than average.
