Cold Weather, Can't Fish, Try This!!

Went out in my backyard this morning to make a few practice casts with my new G Loomis rod.

About the third cast, I was winding in my bright yellow practice plug, when suddenly from out of the bushes,

came a black and gray striped cat. He nailed it. I am not kidding!!

When I finally got him to let go, a few casts later, same thing, different cat. I want to tell you,

I had a great morning. 3 Calicoes, an applehead Siamese, and 1 yellow tom, plus the gray striper, get it, striper.

And, NO, before anybody says it, I wasn't cat fishing. It just happened.....lol

Hootie

Lol! We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and the dogs don't care when I practice with a small weight. The cats however are a different story. They chase that thing all over the garage. Lol

I had a similar thing happen. I was using an old frog to try out a new reel and as it bounced across the yard a hawk came and nailed it. Thankfully the dog gave chase and it let the frog go.

Here kitty kitty kitty !!

I dunno, you say you weren't,  but you sure seem to know your .........cats !!  LOL !!

Well, not sure about hootie, but I did it several times on purpose. :-) Jax and Milo were chasing it like some serious large mouth. Lol

When I start 'cat' fishing in the house, mama knows it's almost spring.  I break out the teaser lure and tie it on, she breaks out the credit cards and goes shopping........... You guys do realize that we are all in need of help, but unless the Dr. is a fisherman, he'll never be able to diagnose us and if he is, we'll spend the hour talking about fishing!  Just can't win, so I gave up about thirty years ago.  I've given up at least thirty times since.

I was getting ready for a tournament last year, and spooled up some new line, and walked out of the light to cast a jig down the hill. When I reeled it in, a black cat was chasing it. We have no cats, neither do the neighbors....Scared the crap out of me...

Ha. Pitching jigs to my cats food bowl and watching them jump 3 feet in the air after it is the only way i stay saine in the winter. 2 more months:(

I have a knotted rope I pitch around the living room and down the hallway that our puppy loves to chase. Good practice for me and good exercise for her!
