Yea thanks for reply, once adrenaline kicks in so does the weight of the fish lol

It is a nice fish. Congrats.

I'd say a solid 7.  But I'm with Jeff.  6.5 to 7.5 is a great estimate.

I am also in the 6.5-7.5lb class for my guess. Definitely one I would be proud of catching

If you can estimate the girth and length you can get a decent gauge by using

One I also use is a very basic formula just to give me a sense of the size.

Length x Length x Length / 1600

Dont feel bad, about 5 years ago one of my pals and had just bought a bass boat and had just got into bass fishing. He called me on the phone yelling that he had a 10bit pounder and i needed to get down to the ramp with some scales and a camera. When i got to the ramp , he was tied off to the dock and as excited. He pulls this nice fish outta he live well and my heart sank...the fish looked like it weighed maybe 5 lbs. I shook my head and told him that the fish was not a 10lb fish and that i would still photograph it. He insisted that we still weigh it. The fished weigh 5.4 lbs. I kinda felt bad for the guy. But it was still a beast of a fish. Not related to the story but that guy is an extremely good angler on our home lakes now

One reason I never ask, If say it's 10# so be it.........lol.

Would I have had more fun if it were 9.9 or 10.1, probably the same.  A great fish, all that matters is that you had a good time.

All great fish, nonetheless.

Never the less, great fish. I will admit I have been there and done that. We swear those big girls we catch on the days we forget the scale were 10lbs.

As everyone else is saying NICE fish, the memory of catching it will remain with you for a longtime!  As far as guessng weights from pictures it is ALMOST impossible to do.  Take a look at the golf course frenzy thread below that Dwight put up, the largest bass he is holding is 6 lbs 9 ozs on a digital scale.  YES ONLY 6-9lb, but at the time he we thought it was at least low 8lb range, but nothing like a objectiving measuring device to get you down from the fish fever!
Nevertheless, I would say your fish was in the high 4lb range to low 5lb range.
