Hydro-Dipped Shimano Cardiff

Featured Replies

Wanted to share a recent project me/Robert were working on.  Here is a Shimano Cardiff 200A with the side plates hydro-dipped in carbon fiber pattern.

I have three other reels I am having done right now.

Robert and I were talking about giving away this reel, but I am coming down with a serious case of cold feet.  I love this reel!

I've been wondering when people would start doing custom dips on reels.  I'd be curious to it's durability.  It looks fantastic with the handle!

I saw it on Facebook. Looks sweet!

That handle would look sweet on this old girl.  Sadly, i let her go awhile back:

I'll let you know about the durability.  I am going to be doing some extensive field testing in the coming months...   :eyebrows:

Yep. I got it from Bronzefly years ago. Was my frogging reel for a while.

my gf would probably smack the back of my head if she heard me call that reel..sexy. nice job

Is that handle assembly off of a different reel, or did you make the cork handles? At first it looked like a Cardiff 50S DC handle assembly, but then I checked and it's different. Nice work. I love these reels.

Robert and I make these carbon fiber handles with the cork knobs www.hawgtech.com

I have realy become a fan of this reel.  Love the rugged simplicity of it...easy to assemble/disassemble.  It casts mile and is very inexpensive.

The handles look great. Bookmarking your site for future reference.

I love round casting reels in general. Another great one is the C4.

Matt, that one is on my "to-do" list....I'm thinking a camo Cardiff on a Dobyns Coalition rod.

That is a reel sweet looking combo.....Looking forward to your durability testing results. I would consider doing a Conquest 50....

I've got to go with these being the BEST replacement handle available.  I've got two now, and love them.  I'd like to add another seven or ten...

Jeremy,

We're glad you like em.  We loving hearing positive comments from our customers, and your expert knowledge of bass fishing equipment carries a lot of weight around here....so, thanks!

wonder how hard it would be to hydro dip my kayak :D I want the whole thing to look like that carbon fiber image!

woooooosh, back to reality.

I just met a guy that has his own company and uses this technique on everything. The best is on save phace masks.  I want to do it on my reels but then I would have to void my warranties.
