Dishwasher Safe?

Featured Replies

i was sorting my tackle bag and all my plano(hard plastic) boxes that hold the lures have a lot of rust stains and dirt on them that are hard to get off with a regular rinse and scrub, has anyone ever put them in the dishwasher without them melting? was it effective? just trying to save a few bucks

I don't see why I wouldn't work, did u try a magic eraser?

Try soaking over night in warm water in a sink with 1/2 cup of baking soda. The tackle bag can then go into a warm water clothing washer cycle and air dry. The nylon Plano boxes will clean up after soaking with a little effort using a nylon scrub brush and warm water with Simple Green soap. rinse well with warm water. Dry with paper towels, do not put nylon boxes in a hot dishes washer.

1/10 solution of simple green or any degreaser type chemical worrks well for me. Ive done it a number of times. Myy dishwasher doesnt harm my tupperware containers so i would think plano boxes could stand up to the heat.....but i havent tried it.

I was thinking foaming bubbles bath cleaner

Those boxes shouldn't be a problem in the dishwasher. Just take them out before the drying cycle.

i  ended up soaking them in oxy clean then hosed them down, they look brand new again

After reading this last night I put a 3600 on the top rack of the dishwasher this morning before I left for work. I came home and it was fine.

Lemon fresh, but fine nonetheless.

I've used oxy clean on my tackle bags, boxes, and you should see what it does to boat carpet!
