Went out from about 6-830 this morning.  It was really foggy.  I fished the main lake for a bit with no luck so I went to the small pond that's adjacent to it.  Right around sunrise I caught this guy on a Rage Tail Shellcracker.

 

 

Just as I was getting ready to leave, I got my spinnerbait snagged and broke off.  I tied on another SK spinnerbait in Bleeding Gold Shiner just so there was something on there for the walk back to the car but I say to myself "one last cast...".  Glad I did cuz I hooked into this little chunker.  Best one of the season so far.

Thanks for the report.  Too bad my last cast is usually 20 more casts ;P  God forbid if I catch one...because I have to get another cast in then.

Every time I say last cast it turns into 10 or more. Mine don't turn out like that. Lol

I once, just once and probably never again, made three last, hard and fast casts to tighten up my line on my reel. I caught three decent white bass on back to back casts when I did that. That will never happen again. Of course, those didn't end up being my last casts, haha, but after about fifteen more unsuccessful "last casts", I finally packed it in. What made it worse was I had been fishing with my nephew who had not done nearly as well as I had and he was ready to leave when I told him I just needed one more maintenance cast to tighten my line. My eleven fish lead was instantly upped to fourteen, and he was not happy.

Thanks everyone.  And yeah, my last casts usually turn into 15 or 20 more too.  But this time it really was my last.  After catching that one I wanted to keep fishing but I had been up all night and had to get home and catch a couple hours of sleep before work.

Nice fish. I have great luck on the SK bleeding gold spinnerbait. I lost mine last year though so ill have to go pick up a few more soon

Lost mine yesterday.  Funny enough, once again, I said 'one last cast'.  Except this time my last cast found me over a tree branch as well as snagged on a stump.  It wasn't a good day.
