You're Go-To Lures

Featured Replies

When the bite is tough what is in you're "panic box"? Mine would be a KVD sexy shad, a white fluke with blue specs of glitter and a yamamoto flappin hog carolina rigged.

Hmmm....Senko would be no. 1, followed by a Fat Ika. But it would depend on the weather & water conditions at the time. If fishing is "tough", its probably not a good idea open my crankbait box.

Called Disco Violet, I gravitate to that color quite a bit, it's done well for me.

I'd say Senko/senko-style worms first, Zoom Finesse worms second...

Last year I had 2 that bailed me out plenty of times.  A wacky rigged senko style bait and a 10" Berkley powerbait worm in motoroil color.

This year I haven't fished as much as I would like so nothing in the panic box just yet.

3" Matzuno Crawfish color suspending jerkbait..

Jig head and a grub

jackall flickshake with 1/16oz head, or dropshot with 4-1/2 inch roboworm

If all else fails I usually land a couple on a 6" Zoom Lizard, pumpkin with a chartreuse tail, t-rigged.

My go to box:

Gene Larew Hoodady jr T-rigged in dark watermelon candy w/ tail tips dipped in chartruse dye

Gene larew 8" worm (elec. blue w/ pearl tail)

Bagley crawfish crank

jig and craw trailer.

bagley 'b' med. "black splatter-back"

  • Weightless Slugo

Jitterbug

YAMAMOTO D SHAD WEIGHTLESS

YAMAMOTO SENCO WACKY RIGGED

DROP SHOT WITH 4 1/2 ROBOWORM NOSE HOOKED

No particular order

A swim jig. Also, it's "Your" not "You're." :P

My go-to lures are:

  • Crawdad colored bill lewis rat-l-trap
  • sexy shad colored square bill crank bait by h20
  • H & H single willow blade 3/8 spinnerbait in white
  • green pumpkin with gold sparkle curly tail worms (6-8" size)
  • brown, black, or blue soft-plastic craw

Would be a senko but I stopped using them long ago because there are more fun lures :-)

Now, it's swim fluke in shad color, trigged with a 1/8oz bullet weight. or same but a green lizard.

Net bait T-mac worm green pumpkin with a chartruese tail on a 1/4 oz spot remover shaky head.

Rat'L'Trap

Fluke

Carolina Rig

fluke or wacky senko

1/8TH shakey teamed with an oxblood robo 4-6".Close 2nd a custom 1/8th oz finesse jig green pumpkin/brown.

1 - Finesse/Trick Worm on a Dropshot

2 - Jig

3 - Carolina rig

There are some shallow fish all the time. A Bandit 100 or Normans Little N crankbait and a Zoom green pumpkin baby Brushhog, for largemouth.

A Normans Deep Little N and a Robo Worm set up for a drop shot with a GYCB Hula grub as a sleeper, all for smallies.

One last thing, don't panic.

Weightless Senko, T or Wacky rigged. Finally a drop shot with a Robo Worm or Zoom Finesse Worm

Top confidnce baits - Senko, Baby Brushhog, Deep Wee R, Fat Free Shad, Rat-L-Trap, Buzzbait, Jitterbug.

Its quite apparent I dont fish a senko enough
