How do you rig these things? I have some of the Yumbrella Jig Heads, would those work?  They look rad, but they are not hollow, so its got me confused on how to rig them

Screwlock weighted hook. I like a 4/0 1/4 oz. (4" Sick Fish)

I have been using a Gamakatsu 5/0, screw lock, 1/4 oz. weighted swimbait hook on the 4". It's darn near perfect. So far only the things with teeth have wanted to play with it, but I see a few decent bass in my future with this set up.

x2 on the 4/0 weighted.  5/0 might work with some brands.  Make sure it sticks out through the gap on the top.

 

For the smaller ones I used either a standard round ball jig or a VMC Rugby Jig if I need a weedless presentation.  Works great.

The only Screw lock hooks I have are either too big for the 4" or the gap just seems way way to small. I guess I will have to get back to the store to get something that looks like it will work better

Try the VMC heavy cover ones. The hook point is tilted slightly up instead of being in line with the eye so you have better hook-ups. (Still completely weedless when texposed)

It takes a 6/0 screw lock weighted or weightless

Swim bait hook. I like the ones from VMC. they are really good hooks and won't

Break the bank.

Another thing about the "sick fish". Smell them when u take

Them out of the package. They smell like fresh paint. ALWAYS take them out

Practice casting. Because bass will jet away from them. I put them under a ceiling

fan for 4 to 5 days. This gets rid of most if smell. Remember bass smell like

Five times better than a human so I still put JJ's Magic on usually just clear.

I'm sure a game fish scent of some kind would work fine also.

I put >2 dozen bass in the boat on a fresh out of the package Sick Fish last week with no added attractant, the scent of the bait didn't deter them at all. What sense would it make for a bait company to put a scent on their bait that repels fish? I think it's pretty safe to say that a big name player like Berkley and Pure Fishing wouldn't make a mistake like that.

They are all prone to mistakes occasionally. Megastrike can't hurt with the smell and, IMO will help with preserving the bait due to the slickness on the bait.

It's stinks to us but bass are hitting them hard right out the package.

You should try to hollow out the underside where the hook will meet the body so most swimbait hooks will work with the shape a lot better.
