Best Micro Guide Rod?

I enjoy the Mike McClelland Signature Series Falcon Cara, as far as the best, it is all subjective.

Yes, pretty subjective. I have no connection with the company, but I like all of my kistlers. Especially the z-bones:

I have the following z-bones

7' MH (4 power)

7'3" (2 power)

7'3" (4 power)

7'3" heavy (5 power)

7'6" heavy (5 power)

7'11" extra heavy (6 power)

7'11" Alabama rig special

Plus several Heliums and magnesiums.

I love the duckett rods. I have two of them. 7'0" Medium and a 7'0" Heavy. They are so light and sensitive it's crazy. I have my medium paired up with a RevoSX Gen 3 and the combo is crazy light.

Kistler KLX. More than a few threads regarding how nice these rods fish. Good luck!

Custom.  I don't think the big manufacturers have thought the whole 'micro' thing through.  they just slap micros on their rods and they'll sell, weather or not the type of rod lends itself to even have 'micro' guides on it.  A custom builder will recommend if 'micros' are proper for your application and what size 'micro' would work for you.  I think a lot of people's trouble with them is they aren't the proper guide cause they aren't for all applications.

The only micro guided rod I have is a St Croix Rage. I like it, but I won't be getting another. Not because the rod is junk or anything, but I fish in a lot of heavy cover/slop those guide gunk up pretty easy with "stuff" and it's just one PITA that I don't need or want to deal with. Normal sized guides are not immune to it either but, it happens far less often, and then usually a quick " dip and swish" under the water clears the crap out....not so much with the micros. I have to stop, pick the crap out, and do it all over again three casts later.

I also have a rage micro guide rod. Do I enjoy this rod? Yes. However it will be my last micro. I find my self during my outing picking out loops or half hitches that occur during certain situations that are a pain to get undone. I have to cut the braid sometimes and retie. I never have that problem with regular guides.

falcon cara micro.probably one of the lightest rods made.

Duckett micro magic.

Duckett Micro Magic. Built from the ground up as a micro guide rod, and I LOVE mine! Lightweight, great action, sensitive, powerful and yet very versatile.
