Best Bass Baits For Small Ponds

Featured Replies

I have been fishing in very small ponds on golf cources and was wondering the best lures to use for these small ponds.

Texas rigged worms, flukes, senkos, and try topwater in the evening

Jigs for me. I have better luck in the smaller ponds with jigs than I do in larger lakes.

Bomber Square-A, Hollow body frogs, chatterbaits, swim jigs, plastics.

I fish some ponds around here and almost always down-size whatever I'm throwing. Don't forget the Beetle Spin.

My favorites for little ponds:  Sluggos, Mepps Fury #3 or #4, Finesse Worm, Cullprit 7.5" on a T-Rig, Pop-R, Spider Grub, Horny Toad...

Spro Bronzeye Jr.

Zoom Baby Brush Hog

Centipede, 4" and 6" senko, grande bass rattlesnake, anything topwater, trick worms, mag trick worms, flukes, baby brushogs, lizards and 7" and 10" ribbontail worms.

A cottoncandy color 3" Yum dinger, texas rig with no weight for numbers. spinning gear, 7' med. rod. 10 lb. fire line. I also like flick shake worms for finnesse fishing for numbers and biggon's. 1/4 oz. cavitron buzz. Also 3/16 oz. pond majic spinnerbait in white and gold, replace small willow with next size larger- early spring.

Rat L Traps are deadly on Fl ponds along with some of the baits listed.

I like spinnerbaits and shallow cranks but I'm also a completely hooked on spinnerbaits...always have been.

No need to go small just cause its a smaller pond I never understood that logic...you may be limiting yourself.
