Are you sure there are big fish in there?  If your only fishing small ponds, there may just be an overabundance of small fish.  I'd say try upsizing your lures.  Most guys on here are gonna say a big jig/craw trailer.  You could also try a 3/8 oz. spinnerbait or a big worm like the 10'' Rage Tail Anaconda.  I've heard that bigger lures will help to weed out the dinks but that's not always true.  Caught this little guy today on a jitterbug that would barely fit in his mouth and the second one came on a little 5 in lizard a couple weeks ago.  So it's not really set in stone.

My personal experience is that large bass (large being a relative term based on where I fish) will hit a variety of lures and can be caught on all the major lure types. Fishing in the vicinity of large fish is the much bigger challenge than what lures to change to.

This might be frowned apon, but you could throw a cast net just to see what's out there. I don't do it, but I know people that do and realize they have big bass in their backyard pond. Some other methods I like are throwing "longer" baits like a lizard or a trick worm. Sometimes, not all the time, the larger bass will strike and the little ones won't. Everyone has their methods... Those are mine.

You should first make sure there are for certain big fish in the small ponds you fish. I can't count the number of larger bass I've caught on smaller baits. However, I've caught more big bass on larger baits than small fish on larger baits. Maybe try upsizing your offering.

Can't catch big fish if you're fishing where there aren't any. Jig or a swimbait will weed out a lot of those small fish and appeal to the bigger fish if they're there.
