Looking for a decent spinning rod around 100 to 150 I ordered a carrot stik I thought I ordered a spinning on but I ordered a casting one which is fine ill keep it and use it but if I could get some input on a decent spinning rod that would be great thanks

Carrot stick, duckett micro, Abu Garcia vengeance, even St. Croix makes a good bass mojo in that price range. What are you using it for, How long, what action?

Really anything multi purpose from spinners to plastics ect...

Return the casting rod and exchange for the spinning rod you wanted, we all make mistakes, shouldn't cost you $$$.

What is the reel you plan to use, the rod needs to be selected for proper balance.

I use nothing but general purpose spinning rods for any style or lure type, what I buy is mainly based on the reel.  I do go for a bit more comfort for my freshwater set ups, not as much for my saltwater ones.  For $150 you can get a really nice rod, I spend 75-100 on my freshwater and 100-150 on salt. 

I currently own and use 4 different spinning rods in the $60-$100 price range. An Abu Garcia Vendetta, a St Croix Mojo Bass, a Shimano Clarus, and Shimano Convergence. Of the 4, the Clarus is the best IMHO, then the Vendetta. The Mojo and Convergence are about equal, but the Convergence costs $40 less.

If you have $150 to spend, id look for a used cumara or avid,

Just my opinion, but if I were going to get a St.Croix in that price range it would be the Premier/$110 or the Triumph/$90. I've never liked the Mojo Bass spinning rods, but that's just me (like the casting ones fine though.)

Just little things, for one, I like the "texas rig" hook keeper on the Mojo over the old school closed loop on the other two. And I just like the action/taper of 6'8" M/XF Mojo spinning rod, along with the split grips, neither of which are available in the Premier/Triumph line up.

Fair enough. I use my Premier and Triumph rods for throwing really light jigs for river smallies/walleye, and I wouldn't want to use anything else. Usually the heaviest thing I'll throw with them is around 3/16-1/4oz. though. 

 

The Mojo is a fine rod, I would just buy the Premier instead personally. One of my fishing partners swears by the Mojo Bass, and he does really well. 

I love my Dobyns spinning rod.

Try the Cabelas XML or XMLTi with the XML being in that price range. You may be able to catch an XMLTi on sale in that price range as well. I've handled and used both the Clarus and Convergence and returned both as my Dick's Tec Spec rod was more sensitive than both for the same type of techniques. No knock to those that use them but they just didn't perform well for me.

St Croix Avid for the upper end of your price range...

 

The lower range, i'm really happy with my St. Croix Premier and Mojo...

 

Those are what I own. The crucial felt nice, but I've only had a few casts with one.

I would buy the Avid from St. Croix, for a one rod setup, 7' MF, if you fish it in a lot of heavy cover,,,MHF, if you want to spend less, get the Premier!!!! I assure you that you will be pleasantly satisfied with either!! Those would be my only choices in that price range, if I wanted to be sure I was going to be happy with my decision!! No need to thank me, just enjoy it!

I agree. Another good option that a couple guys have said is the Abu Garcia Vendetta. I would go with a 7'MH for the Vendetta.

if you dont mind waiting a few weeks i guess seeker is building rods with the microwave guide system could try those....they cast awesome and the guides are pretty decent

I have a st. croix Rage spinning rod and I really like it. I have a a few others in that price range also but I like how it handles better than the others. 

St Croix Mojo Bass rod is my favorite! I picked up one yesterday and absolutely love it. So far I have pulled in 20 plus fish in the last 24/hrs including a few over 3 and a nice 5lb 12oz
