Sharp looking reel. Though, I can't think of a single time I've needed more than 30 or so IPT. It's getting a little silly.

I'm in. Adding to my wish list.

You've never tried racing a buzzbait against Usain Bolt?

I was unaware he could run on water...let alone bite a buzzbait.

He is working on that. Last time I did he won, parallel to the bank he was on.

I am a speed freak. and this will make a good pitchen, topwater and frog reel.  sure the 1st set will be rittled with problems though

im waiting for one in the double digits lol

picture how fast a 15.1:1 would be haha.

Im thinking your'e right, its gonna be lots of problems for the first gen of it

sorry,  i saw it on FB and rushed here to post, and yall beat me, sorry to mods,  I cant help it I am a speed junkie, I Love my 7.3.1 smoke, I have a stx 8 gear on the way, I shoulda waited to get this I half agree, they have  enough ranges of gears, need to focus on somthing else, and maybe they can create a new game changer ??

It's no sweat!  It happens with breaking news.  Takes two clicks to merge the threads. :)

agreed

I'm out on this one. The 8:1 STX was too fast for my liking. I'm sure the flipping junkies will be all over it, though.

How about this. A reel geared so, no matter how long your cast, one turn of the handle brings your lure, or fish to the boat.

I seen this on my Facebook news feed also. I'm a revo guy as everyone knows so its on my wish list.....better stop raining cuz that list is getting long with the new morrum reel and now this I'm sure there will be more released as we get closer to icast

I have a 7 and it is fast enough for me.  At a price of $299, I am probably out on this one.  Would rather get a Toro for Swimbaits or another Revo SX.

Any idea on the price of the Morrum?

I think I seen 499 some where don't quote me on it though.

I would totally get this if;

1. Needed another setup

2. Could justify blowing $300 on a reel

3. Had $300 to blow on a reel

In my experience (albeit rather minimal compared to some of you veteran anglers), the only realistic application I can see for a reel with that kind of IPT rating is one where the predator is fast moving and you need a lure that is moving super fast.

To my knowledge, that formula equates to a saltwater reel throwing spoons or sling silvers chasing after fast movers like Spanish Mackerel where the boat needs to be moving at a 5-8mph clip and the lure moving just as fast.

Sorry - not a real necessity in my book - just marketing hype for a Revo Premier variant from the looks of it.

i will say i love to flip mn pitch, the speed is helpful when ur flippin grass or reeds and the fish is under the boat before you u can engage ur reel when fishing 10 inches of water!!! but would like to see more specs on the reel n like stated in earlier post, some tweaks IMO will need to be worked out before i spend 300 on another reel i dont need! but if its anything like the gen 3 revo line, theres gonna be a lot of love hate between the buyer and the revo! i myself seem like have a hard time putting my gen 2s down! js wish i wuda jumped on the gen 2 premiers earlier, mine had a problem with the spool getting too tight, threw it hard just to go 20-25 feet from the boat, cleaned and magnets loosened up all the way and still no luck, woun up returning it and getting a shimano and had no problems since but still have 10 revos and use the heck out of them! but back to the subject at hand, id like to try it out for sure but at that price point, i might have to wait due to the fact that the applications would be limited to hi speed lures. but we'll see cz i like to get new fishing stuff for sure!
