Discovered this little place back in the woods in PA. I fished it for awhile and caught 2, and had 3 get off. The two I caught were both less than 2 pounds. One was on a weightless watermelon black flake senko wacky rigged, the other on a black and blue buzz bait. The buzz bait scared the crap out of me! The fish followed it all the way to the bank and decided to launch itself out of the water to swallow the buzz bait about 2 feet from me.

Anyways, I'm looking for ideas on fishing this location. I bought a KVD sexyfrog last night at Walmart. the only color they had was leopard.

Great looking spot! Try a frog around 5 am or just before dusk at night.

That place SCREAMS FOR A FROG. Time of day does not matter with cover like that. That place looks awesome.

well i just got back. Seems middle of the day with upper 80 degree temps are no good. I was throwing two different frogs, a tequila sunrise yum worm, a watermelon black flakes senko, a white chatter bait, and a rattlin rap. No luck at all, not even a nibble. I did get excited when I saw a big swirl come up behind my frog, until a dinner plate sized snapping turtle popped its head out of the water to investigate my frog.

I may be going back here tomorrow morning. I had much better luck earlier in the day on Thursday. I had two hooked that look at least like they were 3-4 pounders, but I didn't have a solid hook set so I lost them both.

Really nice looking spot and its good that you have proof there are bass in there.  If theres anyway to drag a small little john boat in there you'd be set because the bank fishing looks like it could be a little tough.

Frogs for sure, but I wouldn't be afraid to throw spinnerbaits around the lay downs and edges of the moss

I'd probably get some Rage frogs or Zoom horny toads with the cover being a little more sparse. I like to buzz them along the top and then kill them in the openings in the weeds. Braid is an absolute must for that kind of fishing though.

Frog, Buzz Bait, or Jitterbug early and late. Texas rigged worm, senko, or brush hog with least weight possible during mid day.

Weightless worm ,zoom watermelon red trick worm fished tx rig wtless or small split shot throw it out let it settle on bottom drag back slow.

Looks like I need to look into some new baits. I've never seen some of these mentioned - brush hog, trick worm, etc. My only experience with plastics has been limited to culprit worms, lizards, crawfish, and recently, senkos.

I'm good to go with a stout rod and I'm using 30 lb braid.

I have had great luck with pumpkin colored with a flash of chartreuse or a motor oil color with chartreuse.  I found that the baby brush hogs work well in those types of waters.  Texas rigged with about a 15 inch fluorocarbon leader using a number 4 Gamakatsu worm hook.  I fish a spot similar to yours that holds 5-6 pound bass and Senkos and brush hogs always produce.  Good luck!

I would start off with green pumpkin then go from there.  I wish i had that kind of area at the ponds we fish.  Frog city for sure though.

The guy i fish with is looking at getting ahold of a jon boat to get back in there. problem is, you have to have 4wd to get even close, then its another 50 yards through woods and mudholes to get to the pond.

I wish i had gotten more pictures. When i first got there my jaw dropped. I didnt even get a picture of the gigantic wood pile that is about 8 feet above the water towards the middle. Im sure its deeper out there and probably holding some hogs. Well, hogs by PA standards anyways.

With all that wood I'd also bang a small jig and craw around a bit.
