I don't think it mattered.  Put another D-lineman up there and they would have just ran around the outside.  Stack the box with 8, and they'd pass...it was clearly a matter of the Auburn offense being better than the Mizzou defense.  And on the other side of the ball, while the Auburn D wasn't that great, it did stop Mizzou on quite a few important drives and force punts...

I think Alabama's front is pretty good, but god those cornerbacks drives me insane! Auburn did whipped us up front, but when we tried make the adjustment our cornerbacks broke down and gave up that touchdown pass that tied the game late.

on plays that they ran 3 linemen they got gashed.......in the first half when they were winning/swaping scores and creating turnovers Mizzo did well with 4 linemen, it was the 3 linemen that allowed the corners to be free to the run.

 

It was clear Auburn had no intention of really throwing the ball..... you have to stop something. Mizzo failed to make the adjustments thats a coaching issue not a talent issue. Mizzo clearly had the talent to beat Auburn.

 

 Auburn really aint head and shoulders above Mizzo, they racked up a bunch of yards and put up impressive stats to only win really a field goal game.

LSU's Jeremy Hill rushed for 184 yds & 3 touch downs againt Auburn. Rain & turnovers helped LSU but LSU turned the ball over twice to.
