Emergency Trip To Erie

Featured Replies

Made an emergency trip up to Lake Erie last weekend. Dwight had called me saying the winds were favorable only 15-25 out of the NE. He mentioned he had been on a hot bite using 4lb test working the new anaconda 12" baits over the zebra mussel beds. He recommended a locked down drag on my spinning reel mounted on a 5' extra heavy rod. After fishing for about an hour I hooked this monster in my avatar. When I finally got her up to the boat I was begging Dwight to net her. He said she wasn't big enough to net just flip her into the boat like they do on TV. I said a little prayer and poof there she was my new PB. We didn't have a scale or measuring tape. What do you guys think she weighs?

always hard to tell......looks to be a typical 8# best I can tell.

I see what you did there...nice!

Congrats Jeff, That's a Beauty for sure.

As for weight - Since you did land it while in DH's boat - I'd have to guess it's something just less than his PB ~

Also forgot to add, we only had 2 hours to fish because of my turn around flight time, but we managed many in this class, just not quite this big.  Only phone pictures because my camera battery was dead and this is the only one that turned out.

Dwight's "turn on the go pro skills" as good as mine eh?

Come on now - don't be like that Dwight.

You've put me on 2 over six ~

A guy has no right to ask for any thing more . . . . . . . . .
