Does anyone else ever fish jigs without a trailer? I don't know if it's the different profile or the faster rate of fall or what, but I seem to be catching more fish this year without a trailer than I do  with a trailer.

what made you fish without one? could be the less intimidating profile that sells to a finicky, summer bass 

I fish trailers without a jig, but not jigs without trailers.

Last year I was catching bass on a single spin spinnerbait with no trailer just letting it helicopter down. Then I started to fish the single spin as a jig, hopping it along the bottom. This year I caught my 2010 pb best (my avatar) on a jig with no trailer. It's been pretty effective so far this year. 

what made you fish without one?

The first time, I was flipping in some pretty thick brush and not catching much. I was using a Chigger Chunk, and for some reason the claws kept hanging on the branches, so I just took the trailer off and kept going. Anyway, I started catching fish.

Today, I tied on a white swim jig and then realized I didn't have any white trailers. I tried a black one for a while with no luck. I decided to try it without a trailer, and I immediately started catching fish.

I dont unless its a hair jig or thread jig.

In the spring I've used a 1/8 wire guard football jig with the skirt trimmed way back and no trailer on bedding fish. I felt it would let them get the hook easier. Seemed to work well.

You forgot biscuits without mustard!

I've tried swim jigs without a trailer after one got the tail nipped. It turned out wasn't too lazy to walk back and get more trailers.

it seems to me that without a trailer right now in the summer ive been catchin more fish without one but once it starts coolin off the larger profile with a trailer seems to work better without one
