Who Was The Best Running Back

Which running back was best. Bo Jackson or Earl Campbell? Both were straight up beast and both had some awesome runs and plays. So who do you think was best?

Campbell without a doubt. He was a tank. Bo might have had better moves but he had Darren McFadden like durablility, at least Campbell had 6 full seasons about. Bo never played enough, not topping 11 games, to get more than 5 tds in a season or 1,000 yds. Campbell in 79 and 80 was over a 100 yds per game and 80 came close to 2,000.

I have to go with Jim Brown.

Sweetness...Nothin' to talk about.

Funny how someone can ask a question with 2 choices and everyone decides to throw out random names. He didn't ask who the best RB ever was. He asked about two specific backs.

I didn't get to watch Campbell as he was before my time, but based off everything I have heard and read, it seems as though he was a better back than Bo.

Always been of fan of Campbell, just an animal!

I'm going to have to say Bo Jackson. Mainly I know more about him as he was at the top of his game during my time of playing ball. He was cut short way to early so we may have really not know his true potential.

Plus he hunts, fishes and shoots Archery

Earl Campbell was a flat out beast. Bo was a dang animal though. At least as far as running the ball goes. I think athletic ability goes to Bo. I think shear ferocity goes to Earl. I mean Earl would throw you or run you over if you got in front of him. Bo would run you over, then turn on the after burner and leave ya in the dust.

Bo Jackson was one of the best atheletes of all time....As an Auburn fan I had the opportunity to watch him play football and baseball in person and at no point in his college career and probably pro as well that he wasn't the best player on the field...It was a shame that his career was cut short. Would have loved to been able to watch him play for many more years

I'd have to say Earl Campbell. Playing football really took it's toll on him though. Poor guy can barely walk and he's only in his late 50's.

Eric Dickerson.  Had he had his head on correctly for his career,  it would have been longer and he would have been up there near first or first for total yardage.  At the ten year mark,  he was already at number two on the list.   6'4' with deceptively blazing speed and power.

Considering Bo would not be on any top ten lists Earl by more than a healthy margin in all aspects- career, impact, and especially yards after hit!

Campbell based on production. Bo was a freak of nature, and will always be one of the biggest "what ifs" in sports. He's quite the bowhunter also lol.

Of those two, I'd have to pick Earl Campbell.

Bo Jackson was an incredible athlete. I remember going to Royals games when he was on the roster and watching him take batting practice. When he hit one dead solid, it made a different sound than I've ever heard from any other player.

That is because Brett must of showed him how to properly apply the pinetar LOL....Bo was I think a better baseball player than football. I was like 8 yrs old and remember that catch then ran up the wall. crazy good athele. I rooted for him on the Chisox and angels too, just wish he woulda made it as a DH.
