Anyone know if the added 1 inch makes a better difference, balances out better or worse, does it matter?

IMO If the flex and tip are exactly the same I don't think a single inch will make a difference.

Is it a casting rod? I had a 2012 casting LTB drop shot rod and I didn't like it.

well if you find the older version of the 69mlxf let me know where if you would please. i like the older split grip more than the new ones.  i've been looking for this rod specifically for over a year now for a specific purpose and it seems those who have it won't give it up.

Have you looked for the blank to get a custom rod made?

I have the 6' 10" spinning dropshot. I don't know if the extra inch makes a difference but it is a really nice rod. 

I figured they both would be good, preference on the handles are the only opinions that differ, which my wife likes the newer design so I'll get the 6'10 for her and keep my eye on the 6'9's

The inch didn't matter, still feels good.
