  • I quit a number of years ago.     I stil miss it when I'm fishing or hunting but I figured I would miss my family more.

  • Justification doesn't change that it is illegal.   I would probably also be looking for a new dentist if they recommended a different type instead of saying quit completely.

  • Don't mean to get this thread going again, but I've had some outlook changes in my life, and one of those was on putting something in my mouth that could kill me. I quit January 5th and haven't touche

I dipped Copenhagen natty until my dentist said pouches won't hurt my gums and teeth as much so switched to grizzly pouches.

Here in GA, dip is nothing of thought for minors legally. I dip around and with cops all the time. Dip is just common down here and northerners will never see it in the volume it is here.

I love our cops in my county for the most part. Paid for ones order behind me at the drive through last night. I know a bunch of em. Only 1 I don't like.

LMAO! Ain't that the truth!

Obviously he's smarter than saying quit, he told me to quit but said pouches are a smarter way to do it.

Hardest thing that I ever gave up other then my girlfriend when my wife found out.

making my argument even better.....no doctor or dentist i know or would want to be involved with would call any type of "dipping" a smarter option.

anyways we all do dumb stuff as kids and we all didn't listen to older people telling us to do otherwise and i don't see you as being any different which is fine.  I just hope that the lesson to be learned doesn't manifest itself in some of the more dire results.

My friends all dip and hang around cops a lot to. Still doesn't make it right. One of the cops around here doesn't care if we steal anything that only cost a couple bucks. Still doesn't make it right.

My dentist dips...while working on my teeth!  He doesn't encourage his patients to dip, but doesn't hide the fact that he does it.  Welcome to tobacco country.

Skoal straight everyday and redman golden blend every now and then.

I don't steal anything, never in my life.

I dip.

Actually not illegal as long as I don't buy it, parents are cool with it although discourage it. So no crimes here. I don't dip at school either.

By that logic it's not illegal for you to drink or smoke either, as long as you don't buy it  :smile2:   I was your age not long ago and I was far from a perfect angel but c'mon man. I agree there's much worse things you could be doing and if dipping is you're biggest vice then you're a lot better off than a lot of people, but if you're under 18 it doesn't matter if you buy it or not, you're under age.

Georgia Code - Title 16, Section 16-12-171

Cigarettes, tobacco products, or tobacco related objects you must be 18 years of age or older to purchase or use.

If you are caught using tobacco you will be given up to 20 hours of community service and made to go to a class on the hazards of using tobacco.

This is just dumb

If your dentist is helping you pick out your dip you need to find a new dentist

Georgia isn't even in the top 10 for states using the most smokeless tobacco

Why would you pay for a cops meal at a drive thru? 99% of the time they get that for free.

And in Georgia it is illegal for you to posses any form of tobacco. I highly suggest you take another look

Come on man at 16 there is no reason for anyone to chew, dip or smoke other than to act cool.

Well good news that I've never heard of that law being enforced. Thread was a mistake I guess.

  • Super User

Thread wasn't a mistake at all if you learned something from it......

I mean I know the risks and I don't do drugs or drink (rarely a few beers) and I dip.

Out of all the things someone pulled up a law about it.

Figured there'd be a bunch of dippers here.

Nicotene = Drug

A few beers = you drink

Why don't you just stop while you're ahead. No one here claims to be perfect but I can tell you I did the same stuff. Did I have fun? Hell yes I did.

Would I take back some of the dumb stuff if given the chance? You bet your rear end I would.

I sit here with the luxury of experience and I can tell you firsthand, make better choices. I didnt want to hear it when I was your age and I'm sure you couldnt care less hearing it from an anonymous guy on Bass Resource, so take it as you will.

I love my Grizzly Extra long cut natural and Copenhagen long cut. I just picked up a can of Copenhagen black today and love it. Definitely recommend it.

Hopefully this will get the thread back on topic. I just picked up at a can of copehagnen black I must say its pretty good but I think I like southern blend a little better.. also do you get full tins of Copenhagen ? Im missing a good size pinch out.of my can.

  • Author

Copenhagen has 1.3 oz per can. Usually a bit seems to be missing, but it is 1.3 oz. they don't claim to sell full cans.

Grizzly packs them tight.. But not all American tobacco. Win/ lose.

They call it "rubbing" instead of "dipping" in WV. I've traveled all over the world, and I've never heard that until I moved here. Does anyone else call it that?

  • Super User

Rubbing? Haha I have not heard of that!! ... yeah I mean it goes stuff just wish they could throw alil. More in! Maybe 1 .5..

The reason the pinch is missing from copenhagen is because its 100 percent american tobacco that settles in the can. Foreign tobacco ( for some odd reason) is fluffier and thats why grizz cans are so full. I personally dont like SB that much. Its much too sweet for me
