Creaturebait

Featured Replies

Whats your #1 creaturebait? I like the strikeking tube lizard and the yamamoto Kreature. For me the lizard is a  tube with some flash . The yamamoto kreature is great because you can rig it normal and do well with it or you can rig it backwards and displace more water. Both have caught me a ton of fish. I tend to like baits that catch keepers and still have enough appeal to tempt larger fish.

I would have to say the Zellamander.  I have been so amazed how this thing catches bass and nice size ones as well.  I do need to buy some Creature-Baits though.  Reading to much how they catch bass continously.

My #1 creature bait without a doubt is the Yamamoto Kreature. That bait is sweet.

Another bait i like is the zoom brush hog. There have been times when thats the only thing they will hit.

i use a variety of baits when im deep texas rigging but day in and day out the most consistent bite has come off the Black/Saphire zoom brush hog. This could be because its an awesome bait or partially because i have confidence in this bait so i fish it harder, its hard to tell. Either way i recomend it.

i also have started melting together parts of different plastic to form some modified creature baits of my own.

for instence...

last night i started with a strike king Jr tube lizzard, then connected a spider grub to the back to add more appeal and added arms off of it.

all this connections were from a lighter.

I like the Zoom Brushhog series--all 3 sizes.  If I happen to be fishing heavy brush or grass, I rip the front arms off so it slides through easier.

I pour my own soft plastic baits some are pretty wild looking.  They're  in colors that most fish has never seen, they are in try colors, that is three separate layers.

I really like the Hoodaddys. The junior size is my favorite. I rig it Texas style with a 3/0 wide gap owner hook, usually with a 1/8 oz brass sinker. I recently bought a couple bags of the new Yamamoto Kreatures they look really good but I haven't used them yet.

How do you guys rig your creature baits?  Texas rig?  Carolina? what do you prefer?

I prefer to Texas rig my Creature baits. I don't peg the sinker most of the time it gives the bait a different fall. I like a tube bait lizard or worm when carolina riggin.

The Brush Hog is destined to become a classic, however it's the Rage Hawg for me. That's not my favorite creature bait, though, the Space Monkey is.
