Tough Day

Tough bite today. Just went from the bank but water was around 50 degrees. Managed 3 on a 1/2oz jig with rage craw trailer. This was the biggest. Went 3.14 on the scale.

Very true. I fished for about 6hrs though. Even threw the waders on for a bit but my legs got cold pretty quick.

This fall has been tough for me also. The hot fall bite just hasn't happened at all yet. At least you still got one quality bite.

If you didn't get skunked then you did good.  Nice looking bass!

Nice one! Which jig are you throwing...

Kansas City area fall fishing has NOT been on fire this fall. I'm not sure what's been going on. Fall is usually my most productive time of the year. Oh well.

Just some I put together a while back. I ordered a bunch of heads from Siebert and then skirts from fishingskirts

Tough day but it was rewarded with a nice fish.  Congrats.

Thanks. It was on your jig head haha

I have a theory on why it's been so bad. We had a really cold spring and the result was the shad spawned way later than usual. In all the lakes I'm fishing the shad are still tiny (around 1-2 inches long) and way more plentiful than normal because the fish haven't had all summer to eat away at them. The end result is an overabundance of food while the fishes need for food is going away as the water temps are cooling off. I can't prove it but it makes me feel a little better about my lack of productivity.

^^^ makes sense.

Went back today. Caught 2 on the jig within maybe 20 minutes and 1 on a kvd 1.5 not long after. Then 2hrs with not even a nibble.
