I know I have bought some dumb things over the years, but for the life of me I can't think what they were.  I must be in denial.

I once spent $1,000 on a 4GB hard drive for my computer

I dropped 32000 on two white gold diamond rings, a watch, and a necklace for me, and a platinum 2kt diamond ring and necklace for my wife. This was back when work was booming. By God we were living good at that time. We weren't but 23 and 24, hell we didn't know any better. I was making a fortune off overtime and we had no children. Kind of which I had put the money in savings now.

No matter how many times I've told my friends that, they still do what you did. We call it "getting in the ether" and dang, it feels good at the time. That little point in time when you come back to reality, we call that "rigor mortis."

 

I've never had one come back and say that he was right.

Back when i was 18 or 19 i saw a leather barcalounger type chair on sale at a department store and had to have it. I 'needed' a smoking chair. It was only around $500, so not a lot of money but a waste nonetheless.

I spent $100 on a Kobe Ribeye steak at the Chicago Chophouse one time. Although I'm not averse to dropping a few bennies on a good meal, the whole Kobe beef thing is overrated IMO. I've had better steaks for a third the price.

I can remember every time I went on a fishing trip to California and beyond I had to load up on more very needed tackle!!!!! Getting better now.
