  • Suffice it to say, that I have improved every aspect of my angling world as a result of The Bass Resource web site & forums.   However, there is no doubt that the Best addition is at least Two V

  • Ragetail, Megastrike, and the most beautiful custom rod made for me by Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle! First one I ever owned. Casts like a dream! Going to buy a Chronarch 50e and JJ's next

  • I've bought multiple things because of BR but the two most prominent would be Northstar jigs and the Fat Ika. I don't regret buying either because they both have produced quite nicely.

As good a tip that I've learned on here is bending the blade on an in line spinner, thanks to Goose.

What did you buy or try as the direct result of asking/reading about it on BR?

I'll start.

I never fished with low profile reels before becoming a member of BR. Abu C3 5500 was my reel of choice. RW tried to talk me into the Shimano line, but I knew better  :wink2:  I stuck with Abu. I now use the Revo STX and Toro for most of my fishing. I learned about the Jika rig here and it was one of my most productive techniques this year. I learned about hard swimbaits here, but have yet to catch a fish on one

What did BR make you try or make you buy? Did it work? Any regrets?

Many things I bought and tried as the direct results of BR, but the biggest one is Humingbird 998 SI. I know for sure if I didn't come here, I wouldn't have bought it. It is not something you walk into a store and pick up because it looks nice.

It works great, better than expected. Only regret is 'why didn't I buy it before'. However I got a good deal, so I guess it is a wash.

Megastrike , Senko's and Strikeback spinnerbaits so far. Couldn't be happier with those suggestions.

Before finding BR, I had 1 baitcasting setup that cost about $80 total and was happy with it.

Since finding BR last year and excluding the countless new lures/baits I bought based on discussions here, I've purchased the following:

- 2 Chronarchs

- Lews TP

- Daiwa Sol

- 2 PQs

- Pflueger Supreme MGX

- 2 St. Croix Avids

- St. Croix Premier

- Crankin Stick

- Lightning Rod Shock (frogs)

- Fenwick ET Smallmouth

It's a slippery slope I guess. I'm hoping to NOT buy anymore setups this year. We'll see if that happens.

As far as lures go that I found on here, the biggest would have to be the Red Eye Shad. I bought a few after reading the praise from people on the board and I went from catching nothing last spring/early summer to being confident I'd catch at least a few even if the jig bite wasn't on. The yo-yo retrieve just works wonders that time of year.

Sounds familiar...

Before I started reading this forum seriously I fished with a Shakespeare Sigma spinning combo I've had at least 30 years.  I know have Veritas', Vendettas, a Carbonlight, a BPS Extreme, and a Fenwick Silver Hawk casting rods.  I'm still figuring out which of my baitcasters feels best with these rods, and that list includes PQ's, a Core 50, Diawa T3's, Abu SX, and a Lew's TP.

WIth respect to baits, SENKO, SENKO, SENKO, a couple of jigs, and a handfull of Rapala cranks & DT's.

Yep, BassResource made me do it....

I was actually introduced to SiebertOutdoors.com jigs by the forum members here and another site.

It is a good thing that I am not too hard headed to listen all of the time because they are awesome jigs.

Best jigs that I have ever used.
