My wife has just uttered my most feared comment. I have dreaded this for years. The shear terror has haunted my dreams since we got married. Its so horrific and horrible.

She wants a mini van! A Honda Odyssey is her exact van of choice. The top end sporty minivan. Assuming sporty and minivan can go in the same sentence together. She said its a SAV Suburban Assault Vehicle. Or a MMCC Mom Mobile Command Center. Any of you dads got any thing good to say about these vehicles?

I got an Odyssey Touring back in April. There wasn't much of a choice with our almost 3 year old girl and twin baby boys.

Once you get over the initial shell shock of being spotted behind the wheel of the minivan, it's really kinda nice. The layout and features make loading and unloading cargo and kids so much easier, and it's very comfortable to drive.

I actually came to grips with the need to get a van before my wife did. We tried hard to stay with an SUV, but to get the higher-end features we wanted on a Tahoe or Sequoia, it would have cost 10k+ over the cost of the Odyssey.

I used to work for a car dealership as a lot guy/shuttle driver. To shuttle I used an oddessy. I think it had either a 3.6 or 3.8 v6 and that thing would get up and go. One time a guy said I should be a race car driver lol. I know people think they are girly but with a big engine they pack some ummphhh. Plus if you two need a break you can sit in the drive way and watch a DVD.

The touring is exactly the one she wants. Said it has the cool looking rear windows. An onboard vacuum and built in DVD players.

I don't know if I can go from leather and Wilkerson to that. Does the Touring edition compare to a Denali package?

Ahhh, the 'ol Looser Cruiser. I'll be honest with ya  ***looks over both shoulders***  I'd own another in a heartbeat. We bought a 2001 Caravan and we were very happy with it. Very roomy, comfortable and plenty of room for hunting, fishing, outdoors stuff and general crap. We owned it up to around 130K when she was ready for something else so we just bought a Subaru Forester...and that is one heck of a vehicle. As stated, it takes some mental adjustment but you will like it.

Yeah excessive speed in a minivan is lame. There is no way to look cool while doing it. Same with a station wagon.

Man I got one worse then that. The wife wants to ditch my (our) four door truck and get another SUV. To seat more people. I can't believe I said it but I said. We need a mini van. Oh what was I thinking! Maybe it was the pain pills I'm on. Il bet that was it.

She runs to much to pay the fuel bill on a SUV again. I don't drive on weekends I copilot and push dents in the floor board wishing I had a brake pedal on that side to. So I really don't care what she drives. But my truck stays!

I drive the above pictured astro van for work. Well minus the pretty paint job. Lol.

Raider I got the dodge caravan a year age, we made 3 fit into an escape but 4 we had to submit.

That sounds like her Envoy XL. It seats 7 also. She likes the Honda. Ive tried for the others and she won't go for it.

i say skip the mini van and get a big ole Expedition or a Suburban and really leave your footprint on the world! lol
