Huge Grubs

Featured Replies

One of my favorite baits to pitch is the big grub made by GYCB. Usually I pitch an 8" grub into heavy cover for the best effect and I have caught some big bass this way. However, no one in my area, not even BPS carries those large grubs, so that I have to order direct from GYCB. This is SOOOO expensive, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any baits like this and where I could get them.  The closest I have found are some large ribbontail worms, but these really aren't the same. It may be that there isn't anything else out there like them, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A grub I like very much is the "Kalin 6" Mogambo"(smoke hologram).

Rigged on a 1/2oz T-Rig Jig, I fish it like a swimbait (slow & steady).

It's more grub-like than worm-like with more bulk and thump.

Kalin's Mogambo and Octomambo grubs are really big.

We use them as trailers on musky bucktails.

Yea, I should have mentioned Kalin's big profile grubs are similar, but can you get that size at stores without ordering them? I have seen Kalin grubs before at Gandor Mountain but I'm not sure what size they were.

They were most likely the 5" model grub if you saw them at Gander.

They normally sell them in coastal areas.

Check out the wave worm anaconda.  They are close to what you are looking for and they are on sale for dirt cheap at ***.

The Zoom "G-tail" worm is similar. It appears to be a knock off of the old Ditto "Gator Tail" worm.

I would say the zoom magnum ultra-vibe speed worm is really close.  Check out the berkley power bait flippin tail worm.  There not as big but i know they catch the crap out of fish.  Last year, Dave Lefebre finished second at the Forrest Wood Cup flippin these worms.

Yamamoto big grubs are good

Take the zoom ultravibe and attach a fat albert grub tail by melting with a candle or by using mend it glue.

take a senko, dinger, sticko, ect. and a pack of matching mister twister 3 inch. cut the front half off the grub. melt them together. ===== BIG FISH BAIT. weightless swimming. set the hook hard.
