Revenge spoons are excellent. Blade Runner Dah spoon is also a high quality spoon.

Structure spoons I use are:

Mr Champ (Luhr Jensen)

Megabait live jig (no longer make 3/4 oz, eBay).

Kastmaster

Hopkins Shortie

Crippled Herring, Luhr Jensen

All the above in 3/4 oz shad colors or chrome with Owner size 2 feathered (white/chartreuse) treble hooks (Iovino).

I don't use a jigging spoon very much, but when I do I use my MH jig rod, 15 lb fluorocarbon and mostly a spoon called a Dixie Jet.  Reef Runner Cicadas (3/4 oz) are also good jigging tools.  Whatever jigging spoon you choose, swap out the trebles for a light wire one, that way when you get stuck, and you will get stuck, it is a fairly simple matter to get on the opposite side of the snag and bend out the hook.  Use too sturdy of a treble and you will sooner or later lose the bait.   Occasionally, one of those "hound dog" type lure retrievers will work, doesn't hurt just to try it,  once you are stuck  Anyway, that's my thinking on deeper water jigging tools.

What he said.  ^ , just move the Hopkins to the top. I use a single hook with an outer barb and no dressing, but that's just what I'm used to from the salt.

Hard to beat a 3/4 ounce Hopkins Shorty.

 

Whatever the spoon, be sure to add a swivel to the line tie area.

I use blade baits also. Silver buddy or Binsky works well for me.

That's some good info. I have seen the Hopkins spoon around so I'll probably give them a try. I assume using a swivel 18 inches above the spoon will work fine? Thanks for the tips!

My favorite spoon is the Cabelas real image in glow color. The stocks hooks are awful but I change them out for triple grips.

I use a quality snap swivel right at the spoon.

Worrying about line twist when deep structure spooning shouldn't be an issue. If you add a swivel you add weight to the spoon, adding inline swivels creates 3 knots, not good.

Some spoons may twist your line, most don't. The trick to untwist line when vertical spooning is let the spoon hit bottom, the crank 1 turn lifting the spoon off the bottom, stop and let the spoon untwist your lne while attracting bass to strike....win, win.

Flutter spoon in any shad type color! Watch the drop because that's when they hit.

War Eagle jigging spoon is my number 1 spoon by a long shot, chrome or white 3/4oz. 

Yep, War eagle and Dixie jet... White, cole slaw and silver.

Mine is a clone of the Cabelas Real Image 3/4 oz spoon in glow white sold by lurepartsonline.com, and hand painted with glow-in-the-dark white/green paint with an added flashaboo dressed treble.

I've been slaying them on a 3/8th Kastmaster in chrome tied to 8# Fluorocarbon. 

War Eagle as a deep jigging spoon.  I don't like to fish flutter spoons vertically, generally.  They take too long to drop and tend not to have the darting action you're after when on vertical structure.  Fishing them horizontally, absolutely.
